BAGHDAD, Iraq - A U.S. soldier shot and killed one of three suicide bombers who attacked the Palestine Hotel complex before he could reach his intended target and that probably saved lives in the building, the military said Saturday. The military also said the insurgents used small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades in their well-coordinated strike on the hotel complex, where many foreign journalists live and work.
Several people in the complex were wounded but all 17 people killed were Iraqis in the area at the time, the government said.

I ran a search, it didn't come up. No wonder, since while the contents are similar, the titles are totally different. Mods, please take my post off... :-)

Hey Moron Reporters... who were they targetting?
To: paudio
Saving reporters' @$$e$ is not necessarily a good thing...if only they could let 'em through selectively to get the hardest of the hard lefties!

If the guy had intended targets and other lives were involved, they weren't there to merely commit suicide, hence the proper term of homicide bombers.

"Hey Moron Reporters... who were they targetting?"
BAGHDAD-Today, heroic insurgents attempted to martyr themselves for the good of the Iraqi people by shutting down the globo-corporate-owned press that is resident in the Green Zone, the only area even remotely safe for Americans and Iraqis.
(have I got the DU/MSM line right?)

Technically, if you are picked off before you blow yourself and someone else up, are you even a 'suicide' or a 'bomber?

Shouldn't the GI first have engaged the suicide bomber in a conversation around issues of diversity, multiculturalism and imperialism? Just wondering.

...Saving reporters' @$$e$ is not necessarily a good thing...if only they could let 'em through selectively to get the hardest of the hard lefties! ...It is my understanding that it's not just reporters that are based at the hotel. I'm told that private security contractors and others are based there also.

I hope this young man is awarded appropriately for his actions; the Silver Star sounds about right...

Sounds to me like this GI violated that homicide bomber's civil rights.

If the guy had intended targets and other lives were involved, they weren't there to merely commit suicide, hence the proper term of homicide bombers. What term do you then use for bombers who leave their bombs to detonate without them? "Suicide bomber" accurately describes somebody who sets off the bomb knowing he gets blown up too.
I prefer the term "Islamokazi", a melding of "Islamic kamikazi"

Instead of 17 dead it would have been 170 dead and possibly the entire building brought down if not for the actions of this GI with great marksmanship.

I know you think you're a great American hero performing tireless service in the trenches against all that's dupish & duplicate, but I hadn't spotted this story before and was glad to read it now.
Instead of playing post cop, why don't you go ahead and get a life? Or at least pretend to?
