I have a library of books written in the 60's and 70's about the "corruption" in the CIA, describing ops etc. the media described these people as hero's. so the mentality of making a name by bringing down the king is not without precident.

Full out war with the CIA is PAST due. Let's roll.

Put your tin foil hat on and try this out.

Scooter Libby is a smart guy and a smart lawyer. Everyone agrees on that. If he went into the grand jury and told lies that could esaily be shown to be lies doesn't pass the smell test. We also know that Scotter was really pissed at the games CIA lifers was pulling.

Could it be that Scooter's plan is to use his indictment and trial to out the CIA?

The links I gave you in the previous post is the link of Democratic quotes made during 1998 (mostly) after Clinton signed the Iraqi Liberation Act which called for regime change and the danger of Iraq's WMD.

This is a list of Clinton crimes and his cronies crimes:

NOTES

Some of the data has not been updated recently and thus understates conditions. In certain areas, such as anomalous deaths, we have used an extremely conservative count. It is important in considering these fatal incidents to bear in mind the following:

(1) The fact that anomalies need to be investigated further carries no presumption of how a death actually occurred, only that there remain serious questions that require answers.

(2) The possibility of foul play must be taken seriously in a major criminal conspiracy in which over two score individuals and firms have been convicted and over 100 witnesses have pled the Fifth Amendment or fled the country.

(3) If foul play did occur in any of these cases, that fact by itself does not carry the presumption that the White House was involved. Given the footprints of organized crime, drug trade, foreign espionage, and intelligence agencies on the trail of the Clinton story, such a assumption would not be warranted.

POLITICAL FALL-OUT
- According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, Democrats held a 1,542 seat lead in the state bodies in 1990. As of November 2000 that lead had shrunk to 288. That's a loss of over 1,200 state legislative seats, nearly all of them under Clinton. Across the US, the Democrats controlled only 65 more state senate seats than the Republicans.

Further, in 1992, the Democrats controlled 17 more state legislatures than the Republicans. After November, the Republicans control one more than the Democrats. Not only was this a loss of 9 legislatures under Clinton, but it was the first time since 1954 that the GOP had controlled more state legislatures than the Democrats (they tied in 1968).

Here's what happened to the Democrats under Clinton:

- GOP seats gained in House since Clinton became president: 48
- GOP seats gained in Senate since Clinton became president: 8
- GOP governorships gained since Clinton became president: 11
- GOP state legislative seats gained since Clinton became president: 1,254
as of 1998
- State legislatures taken over by GOP since Clinton became president: 9
- Democrat officeholders who have become Republicans since Clinton became
president: 439 as of 1998
- Republican officeholders who have become Democrats since Clinton became president: 3

Yep...the CIA, like State, is a rouge agency that believe they don't have to answer to anyone but their precious bureaucracy.

Most of them should be fired and replaced.

Well, why doesn't Bush get Porter Goss to do an internal investigation of the CIA by people that can be trusted (any such thing?) to find out if this allegation is true? Why should the CIA get a free pass?

Man if that's true, he would deserve a Medal of something. I bet the last thing the CIA wants is a trial. Watch the Gov try to limit the trial to ONLY the GJ sessions. I can't fathom a smart lawyer falling into this trap. Especially with the secret stuff they know in the WH. They knew plame had been outted by Ames, had to, unless the CIA lied to them.

"Yes clean house at Langley.."

I thought that was what Bush sent Goss there to do. Unfortunately, Goss turned his report about the lack of credibility of our intelligence service over to congress, named the agents to blame for it, and then recommended nobody be fired. Either Bush lost his nerve to rid the place of them, or figured he'd better appease them along with the Democrats or they might cause even more trouble. No wonder they are gloating. They'll be gloating even more as more people are accused and indicted.

how much of this agency has gone so far off the deep end, that we can no longer rely on them to protect us in the war on terror?

no, because the discovery in his trial won't go that deep into the CIA rogue operation that started this whole thing. his trial is simply going to be about the inconsistencies in his statements.
