Full out war with the CIA is PAST due. Let's roll.

Put your tin foil hat on and try this out.

Scooter Libby is a smart guy and a smart lawyer. Everyone agrees on that. If he went into the grand jury and told lies that could esaily be shown to be lies doesn't pass the smell test. We also know that Scotter was really pissed at the games CIA lifers was pulling.

Could it be that Scooter's plan is to use his indictment and trial to out the CIA?

Man if that's true, he would deserve a Medal of something. I bet the last thing the CIA wants is a trial. Watch the Gov try to limit the trial to ONLY the GJ sessions. I can't fathom a smart lawyer falling into this trap. Especially with the secret stuff they know in the WH. They knew plame had been outted by Ames, had to, unless the CIA lied to them.

no, because the discovery in his trial won't go that deep into the CIA rogue operation that started this whole thing. his trial is simply going to be about the inconsistencies in his statements.

I agree that there is something about this whole thing that doesn't sound right.

The one point that was made is saying there was a difference when Libby said he didn't hear about Plame from the VP and what he told three reporters.

At trail, it could well be discounted by saying he couldn't expose conversations he had with the VP because of existing regulations concerning security or privilege.

That would leave what three reporters said. Now, I don't know about you, but there is no way I would have telephone conversations with reporters without transcripts made in some legal manner.

Personally, I can hardly wait for that trial. Heads are going to roll all over Washington and members of the press could be facing their own indictments.

Tin foil hat off.

"Scooter Libby is a smart guy and a smart lawyer. Everyone agrees on that."

If this is true, and I assume it is how on earth can we believe he talked to REPORTERS, who are known to be great enemies of the Bush Presidency, and discussed Classified Information? He would have to be a fool to do that. I don't think he's a fool, so what happened? I know, from personal experience, that the last person on earth I'd discuss classified information with would be enemies of my boss, it would be personal suicide for me even if I hated my boss. Yes, the outline of the case presented by the Prosecutor is entirely too simple, something is very wrong here.
