Libby indicted on obstruction of justice, false statment and perjury charge...
What was Libby thinking?
I actually had two people say to me today that FitzGerbil sounded "fair" in his rantings today......and they're relatives of mine.
I need my Shirley Temple doll, quick.

You would have thought he would be gunning for Miller since she tipped off that Islamic Charity thatFitzgerald was coming to raid their office!!!
Was Plame on the NOC list Yes or NO. And how come you did not charge Libby for that crime if she was a undercover agent?
Fitzgerald answers it!
I think you can just SAY you are going to Pleade The Fifth and you don;t even have to show up in person!! Why didn't Libby?
OMG! I don't even like Libby but I thought Fitzgerald sounded possessed!! I was LISTENING on the Radio, I wasn't watching TV! He sounded like he was foaming at the mouth!
He probably went back to his office and is still working tonight, as he is wont to do on his cases.

That's a common misunderstanding, and it's my point. *She* didn't do anything illegal for personal gain. She had every right to sell her stock. She was convicted for lying about her actions even though those actions weren't themselves illegal. That's why I made this comparison in the first place.
You nailed all these points on the head. I totally agree. When is Bush and the Republican administration and national GOP leaders going to go on the offensive against the DimWits, Joe Wilson, and yes, Patrick Fitzgerald as well. The incredible thing is that a Republican administration, a Republican Justice dept, and Republican Congress all turned into mush when they agreed to a special prosecutor in the first place. Ashcroft recused himself (why do only Repubs recuse themselves, but never DemonRAT prosecutors or judges) then his deputy AG appointed his personal friend and crony Patrick Fitzgerald as special prosecutor. And now the for the last two years Fitzgerald has spent & wasted $22M or OUR TAXPAYER money investigating and digging for what he realized after only a month, THERE WAS NO CRIME. Only some alleged perjury acts commited by Libby after multiple grillings and testimonies.
I feel sorry for Libby, but as you said the Repubs should have been loudly accusing Wilson of being the liar he was and is, instead of trying to sneak innuendoes through the left-wing NYT and media. What a bunch of boneheads and cowards! Maybe the Repubs will finally wise up and go on offense for a change. I am sick and tired of hypocritical DimWits calling the shots and getting away with it.

MSNBC orgazming: "RIVETING AND REMARKEBLE EVENT!!!"
Thank you so much, massgopguy, for giving me something to laugh about today. I will be borrowing that line. It's hilarious. :)
I don't know, I'll check and see if you can simply not appear or plead the fifth.
You can be granted immunity from prosecution in exchange for your testimony.
You can say, I don't recall and they can do nothing to do for that. You must say something tho, not just clam up.
I just read the indictment and this is what I don't understand - if Plame was undercover and classified then according to the evidence in the indictment Libby is guilty of outing her and yet, they haven't charged Libby with that crime. That just doesn't make sense.
I wonder if the wording of the indictment is such that we are to draw the inference that she was undercover, when they know she really wasn't. I think this whole thing is screwed up. In all the evidence they are basically taking the word of reporters as factually in every instance.
Very good point and that was my first thought. I have not seen or heard the answer to that question anywhere. If they were NOT cleared and conversations between Libby and Cheney are secret and privileged then there is no case, nada. Unfortunately that will only be made public in the trial, but by that time the damage will be done. Both trials and the U.S. constitution are quaint and out of date.
This is sobering -- to see the statements of partisan media ass-clowns receiving more weight than that of senior administration officials.
That said, Libby has doomed himself by blabbing to these jackals in the first place. He has brought this mess upon himself, and given the political enemy an opportunity to create turmoil for President Bush as well. For this, Libby should be ashamed. Aside from some FReepers on this and other threads, I don't feel sorry for him in the least.
I felt like I was listening to a Kindergartner telling how he thinks it is very serious if Libby told a lie even if no covert CIA agent had actually been outed.
And all the while being totally oblivious to what appears to be a CIA plot to undermine the President of the United States.
Oh, and that little story about what the baseball pitcher was thinking when he hit the batter in the head ?
I would think that the first thing an "investigator" should establish is whether the batter was actually hit. Only after you know that there was an actual hit do you begin inquiring about the details.
