Again?! He comes out every few years, apparently he's worried we'll forget, like anybody that saw the episode where Sulu became a pirate could ever forget that Takei is gay.

This was old news in the 1970s. . . .I was at a Star Trek con in 1975, we all knew he was queer then. . .

No, don't remove it. I am tired of these 'been posted before, please remove it' people. Seem's like they lurk FR specifically looking for this redundent post. Sometimes the poster is even flamed.
There have been many of these requests that for me were posted in articles I hadn't seen yet. I'm sure this has happened to many others as well. Some of us cannot sit on the web 24/7 in FR (although we wish we could) and we don't get to see every post. Apparently there are people with a lot of spare time.

Yep, the picture makes it obvious. So do mannerisms. I'm sure anyone with any perceptive qualities at all would know he was gay after a minute of talking with him.
Probably thousands of people knew he was gay....what's with this "outing"?

Everyone time one of these types feel the need to "come out", their movies or tv shows are never the same. Now when a Star Trek episode or movie comes on, all I will think in the back of my mind is "Sulu is Gay". Not to mention all the mental images that come with it. So excuse me while I burn all my Star Trek DVD's and get a fork to stab out my eyes.
Bad images, bad images.
Spock, pinch my shoulder and put me out of my misery.

Thought he was already 'out', as he often has been accompanied by his boy-toy at many public functions. And having the same one for 18 years would set some tongues a wagging (so to speak).
I'm guessing everyone in Hollywood knows who's gay, and who's not, it's just a question of making your official announcement. In this case it seems to be timed to help promote George's role in a production he owns.

Just shows how freaky TOS series crew really was. They did way more drinkin', fightin' and green alien lovin' than all the following Trek craptaculars combined! :-D
