FReep 27 of Code Pink at Walter Reed, Oct 21 (Heavy graphics, Join us Oct 28!)
DC Chapter ^ | Oct 28, 2005 | BillF, with tgslTakoma, bmwcyle, and Gadsdenman photos

Posted on 10/28/2005 12:45:19 AM PDT by BillF

FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center for over half a year.  Despite rain proceeding the event and a heavy mist during most of the FReep, FReepers were out in force again on Friday, Oct. 21. We had one FReeper, who traveled from Texas specifically to attend the FReep, and we had another in town from Arizona. We also were happy to have both Senator Clinton and Karl Rove join us, although BufordP roughed Rove up a bit over the Harriet Miers' nomination and lack of border enforcement. One of the Pinkos' photographers came up close for dueling cameras, whereas another took his shots from a distance.

Code Pink is truly stuck in a quagmire as FReepers severely hinder the Pinkos' cynical attempts to manipulate severely wounded soldiers and relatives in hopes of finding those who will join the anti-war movement and break faith with the troops still fighting a ruthless enemy. Please help us by showing up next Friday night per details below.  Stand up against the Pinkos who've endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers." Then, the Pinkos demonstrate at the hospital and pretend that they support our troops.

Cindy Sheehan is supposed to be there tonight, this Friday, Oct 28, at 7 pm so please make an extra effort to attend and to arrive early.

As we have done on a number of these FReeps, we ate pizza on site at the FReep.

The honor roll of those in attendance (lurkers are marked with an asterisk*): AprilfromTexas, beandog, Bill from MD*, Bmwcyle and daughter , BufordP, Christopher Lincoln, Doctor Raoul, Dustin10thMountain, Fraxinus, Gadsdenman, Iraqikurd, Jack Deth, Jimmy Valentine’s brother, Joan*, Justanobody, kristinn, Landry Fan, Paltz, Pleadeal, Spiff, tgslTakoma, Tolerance sucks rocks, trooprally (two FReepers: Mr. & Mrs.),  and BillF.

That's 26 patriots including AprilfromTexas, who traveled from Texas specifically to attend this event. So where were you? The 26 also includes Spiff from Arizona, who after a hard work week far from home, made the time to get down to Walter Reed. Now for those of you who live a lot closer then them, why can't you make it? Unless you have medical, work, or family factors that prevent you from coming, you owe it to the troops to come. The troops tell us every week how important it is for us to be there. Don't just be a spectator, come out and show your support in person to the troops. You'll be glad that you did.

The event was so large that I can only present that part of the story that I saw. If you were there, please describe your own experiences at the FReep. Also, let me know if I publish your photo without your name or, worse, I mislabel you in a photo.

[CLICK ON A PHOTO TO OPEN A LARGER VERSION IN A NEW WINDOW if it has a border around it. If a photo doesn't have a border, it is not hyperlinked to a larger version.  Click on another photo and its larger version should open in the same window that the first enlarged photo did. Or you can simply close the window with the enlarged photo and click on another photo in the report to open a new window with an enlarged photo. Note that some of the wider photos may open in a window wider than your screen and you can use a horizontal scroll bar to see parts. Photos will be interspersed in the report.

Photos were taken by bmwcyle (click here for his full outstanding collection of photos), tgslTakoma (click here for her full outstanding collection of photos), Gadsdenman (click here for his full outstanding collection of photos), and myself.  For the photos included in this report, the photographer can be determined from the name of the photo. You can see that on hyperlinked photos (i.e., borders at edge) by running your mouse over them. On other photos, right click on the photo and click properties. The key is this: photos of bmwcyle begin with "Dbmw," photos of tgslTakoma begin with "Dtgsl," photos of Gadsdenman begin with "Dgads," and photos of mine begin with "DSCN."]

Opposed to our 26 patriots, the Pinkos managed to get 11 America-hating traitors and their well-meaning, but incredibly-misguided, dupes. The dupes do not realize that their Pinko organizers, who claim to support our troops,  call our troops "killers,"  endorse "the Iraqi resistance" (those killing and wounding our troops, see here and here), and  have given money to "the other side" in Fallujah.

The mist, and the possibility of rain, prevented deployment of the MOAB (Mother-of-all-banners). The mist also occasionally created spots on the photographs, appearing usually as circular light spots. I photo-edited some of the spots out of some of my photos as best as I could. Sarah wrap was used on numerous signs to protect them from the moisture and you can see the wrap on some of the signs.

Paltz is having fun. You should join us on Friday for fun.

BufordP gives Karl Rove grief over Harriet Miers' nomination.

The harangue continues as BufordP gets angry about lax
border enforcement.

As shown above, BufordP roughed up Karl Rove about the Miers' nomination and open borders. BufordP calmed down a little when he realized that this was not the real Karl Rove. Instead, it was our own Spiff. Spiff is actually a clone of Rove, grown by Halliburton in a test tube, and  ready to take over if the other Rove is indicted. It's almost worth an indictment of Rove, just to see the liberals' reactions when the Rove clone takes his place.

Later "Karl Rove" held the sign on the right, apparently bragging about "outing" Joe Wilson's wife.

"Karl Rove" Spiff from Arizona and AprilfromTexas.
Where were you? They came from great distances and you (that's
right, you, you know who you are) live much closer.

Landry Fan and BufordP. He reminded me of the cigar-smoking
Clint Eastwood character in Two Mules for Sister Sara, especially
after his attack on Rove. Fortunately, and unlike the Eastwood
character, he didn't bring dynamite to light with his cigar. Of course,
Buford is more ornery than Eastwood was. Then again, Landry Fan
is more pretty than Shirley MacLaine was in the movie.

tgslTakoma, one of our super photographers, having a great
time as we usually do.

FReepers at our secondary corner as tgslTakoma photographs

bmwcyle and Gadsdenman, our other two great photographers,
are having a fun night and so could you this Friday.

Between tgslTakoma, bwmcyle, Gadsdenman, and your humble correspondent all operating cameras, including some with tripods and high quality telephoto lenses and flashes, we are easily able to document the FReep. On this night, a photographer (see below), apparently associated with Code Pink, came up close to get our photographs.  At any rate, we had a close up duel of cameras and later had an across-the-street camera duel with another of their photographers.

The Pinkos were mismatched to our superior photographic capability. They lost badly in the dueling cameras, just as they are losing badly in their quagmire at Walter Reed. As Doctor Raoul led us in chanting later, "End the Occupation! Commies away from Walter Reed!"

Spiff had some additional outstanding chants and I'll let him repeat some of them in his replies. It's was great to have him with us, especially with AprilfromTexas as well. You too can come to DC and have fun by supporting the troops.

Photog on right, apparently associated with the Pinkos, came up
and promptly is photographed by bmwcyle (at left), Gadsdenman
(not visible, off-camera at right), and me.

As the photog had no real press credentials, bmwcyle told him to
return to the other side or the police would be called. Chastened
and facing the interlocking fields of fire from at least 3 cameras, he
retreated to the Pinkos' side.

Pinkos' line stayed on the single corner on this night.

Gael Murphy, who showed up way later,  in blue. The camera operator here is the Stealth Badger, I've been told. I doubt that his
camera allows clear close-up photos of a single person at night from across the street as we can get. (We usually simply store, for
archival purposes without posting, the very high resolution mug shot style close-ups of individual Pinkos.)

Code Pink near peak "strength" with banner at right illegally placed on federal property (i.e., the Walter Reed fence)

Eric Squeegee Guy at left with Crazy Backpack Guy next to him.

Gael on the phone, "I'm sorry, Medea, but they have us out-
numbered again." Medea tells Gael, "you, McCarron, and Wolf
meet me at the board room where someone will be fired!"

No wonder they couldn't get their flag to burn, they drag it on the
wet ground. This flag-dragging happens virtually every week, but
don't you dare call them unpatriotic or they will cry fowl.

As usual, the leftists had fled the scene of their psych-op against the troops when the bus of heroes (photo on right) back from a night on the town arrived. The injured patients and their family members are treated at a fancy restaurant on Fridays and the patient bus returns around 9:15 to 9:45. This forced Code Pink to change their 8 to 10 pm "vigil" to 7 to 9 pm several months back.

The Pinko leadership kept telling their dupes that the Walter Reed patients were happy to have the Pinkos protesting outside their hospital, but the patients overwhelmingly indicated displeasure at the presence of the blood dancing Pinkos. Specifically, the patient bus would stop before it turned into the gate. The driver would turn on the interior light and numerous of the troops would flip-off the Pinkos. The troops on the side of the bus facing us waved and signaled thumbs-up. Rather than having to explain the contradiction repeatedly, the Pinko leaders just rescheduled their protest so that the leftists would be disbanded by the time the bus arrived.

At any rate, and with the Pinkos gone on this night, the bus interior light came on when the patient bus stopped to turn into the gate. FReepers chanted USA, USA, USA and waved at the patients. They waved back appreciatively.

After the FReep was over, several FReepers went on base with a soldier and met some of the patients. AprilfromTexas, who was one of the FReepers, described it as "the highlight of the evening." I'll bet her smile was the highlight of the evening for more than one soldier.

Bus of wounded heroes and families return from dinner.

Let's help our wounded heroes maintain a positive attitude.  We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded troops at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.

If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. At the very least, we can hinder their psychological warfare operation against the wounded troops. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

This FReep is rewarding, fun and important for our troops and our nation.

Awww. Thanks. We had a very distinguished visitor from Texas last night. He didn't have much to say, but it was an honor to be photographed with him.

At least you were successful. Sounds like your trip to DD was one that supported the old saying..."Dumb looks are still free." Where do we find knowlegeable employees?

A good time was had by all. We met some soldiers and thanked them for serving. They thanked us back. Free Republic salutes heroes!

We had good numbers. What happened to Cindy's plan to drop off get well cards for the wounded soldiers?

Contrary to the delusions of the lefties, we had a lot of support from passersby. They say only SUV-type vehicles cheer for us. Not true. The same bus driver that got his lame bus stuck the other week was back behind the wheel. Due to his resemblance to a famous Colonel, one of our members yelled out that he shouldn't be protesting soldiers but should be making chicken!

Karl "The Unindictable" was there. Someone drove by and yelled out his window, "Free Scooter Libby." I didn't catch Karl's reaction to that. Haha. It was more creative than the finger.

A few members of Rolling Thunder joined us. No hugs from Code Pink for them.

ME???? What did I do now?

LOL, I don’t know. What did you do? Keep in mind this is a family site.

Some one said that I came down all the way from the OC, I responded by reminding several people about you. Namely that you have traveled 150-175 miles onw way every week, rain or shine, snow or sleet for almost a year.

You are famous, possibly infamous, your choice.

Oh-oh ... tell me, tell me!! ;*)

Will do, however, it will be on the SD after action report when it comes up.

This thread is for you guys (no gender) of the DC Chapter for whom there can not be enough accolades and thunder.

I will say this CR and Halliburton made the arrangements to mitigate any attack from the left. If you have received the latest software you should be able to bring up the report.

Rest assured,I recieved information that next week you will have the latest space based system to safegard the WR opperation.

Thanks for the heads up! I will get to the PO to see if it has arrived. I haven't had time to go there lately. ;*)

rotfl..you have got to check out this one out, too ~ but, fair warning, don't have food or liquid in your mouth when you go there!! http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1511254/posts?page=28#28

You guys are way too good at your image-crafting skills! (JLO - jealeous in the peanut gallery - wish I knew how to do that stuff.

Heh, I know I need to buy an image software program before I even could lean how.

I think I'll just enjoy others' handiwork. I always try to credit the artist.)

Prime Choice and Registered are being pinged here, too.

You graphic artists at FR get a thumbs up from me and make me honestly laugh out loud!

Thanks so much for your contributions, one and all!

YOU MAKE US LAUGH! What's better than that? Thanks for learning your craft and sharing it at FR! If I cut and copy your stuff, I just mean it as a compliment to you.

Spiff, you are one wild and crazy guy! Thanks for throwing a little AZ Cactus Spine into the mix!

Thank you DC Chapter and travelin' FReepers for the great job and keep up the good work.

I don't where this came from but I love this saying...

When faced with a large problem, solve any part of it you can, then look at the problem again.

That simple idea is how FReepers will win the day (and night) at Walter Reed. All it takes is to do something...anything... to be there! You made a difference the day you started and continue to do so every week you return. It sure feels great to be an American today!
