What is this, another attempt to bring up sex scandals?
In other news, California voters are still stuck on stupid.
I met with McClintock at an event yesterday. He and the Party seemed pretty positive on how things are looking going into the election. Absentee ballot requests are off the charts and the core seems really fired up, while the organization efforts on the Democratic side don't go much beyond the extremist unions.
Looks like Arnie may need every cent of the $50 MILLION he has for the campaign...
---
And the Unions will need every bit of the 100 million they have raised.
A difference, (R)nold raised his money, the unions stole theirs....
Why is Fox News giving credit to this push poll by the left-wing Public Policy Institute? The purpose of the special-interest group which paid for the poll is expressly to oppose reforms such as proposed by Arnold's initiatives. SurveyUSA finds all 6 passing by wide margins.
And Fox makes a misleading poll worse: It claims none of the measures have majority support. Actually, four of the six have more support than opposition. What Fox means is that the proportion of voters supporting the initiatives is a mere plurality according to the poll. But they'd still pass. While Fox isn't technically lying, their weasel-wording makes it appear that the initiatives are trailing.
Oh, and by the way, the last time PPI polled on all six initiatives WAS FREAKING LAST AUGUST!!!
Given the chance, Arnold WILL put through his reforms, to the good of all Cal-ee-for-nians.
I think Arnold has spent quite some time being rocked and indeed shocked by the vitriol of his opponents -- no one new to politics can easily assimilate the "What we say is TRUE! Don't bother to argue!" illogic of the entrenched labor/libs living in fear that the gravy train is ending.
But he's getting the idea. Ending their gravy train is the obvious answer to ending Cal-ee-for-nia's problems. And that's what he's fighting for now.
I will henceforth ignore those FReepers who complain Arnold is "not conservative enough" on the "social issues" -- that's women's work.
He's messing with the very nuts and bolts of this thing. That's why the labor/libs hate him -- and why we should support him. The other issues can wait for another, less urgent, time. Let's help him win the very BASIC battle first.
