Since Harriet Miers withdrew her nomination to the Supreme Court, Democratic senators such as Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Chuck Schumer, and Dick Durbini.e. all the people who had absolutely nothing to do with Miers withdrawalhave been blanketing the airwaves with demands that Bush must now accede to their commands. So its good to see Democrats are still working on getting in touch with reality.
The Democrats didnt utter a note of disagreement with the Miers nomination. But now they say her withdrawal is their victory, which Bush must be forced to acknowledge by nominating a candidate to their liking. I believe thats what got Bush in trouble in the first place: Listening to Democratic Senator Harry Reid, who recommended Miers for the Supreme Court.
Although the circumstances were unfortunatewe prefer fighting liberals to fighting our Presidentthe Miers withdrawal is an unparalleled . . .

People who made principled, rational objections to the Miers nomination have my respect.
Then there is Maureen Coulter, who wrote the following yesterday:
Finally, to throw us totally off balance, Bush did something weird and scary this week: He nominated Ben Bernanke for Fed chairman A MAN WHO'S TOTALLY QUALIFIED FOR THE JOB. The White House has yet to explain how this happened.
I posted the following as a reply to that unconscionable statement:
I guess Maureen Coulter doesn't think Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, John Bolton or John Roberts were qualified for their jobs. Stupid remarks like this have relegated Ann Clymer to the New York Slimes School of Yellow Journalism.
Maureen Ann Clymer can pound sand. She's a disgrace. I prefer a real enemy to a devious weasel like Mo Ann.

Coulter is clueless. She trusts the president in times of war and peace. She stands behind him and talks about how steadfast he is, decisive, courageous, politically astute etc..... So he nominates his personal lawyer to the supreme court and she's convinced it's a liberal in wolves clothing.
This is about having a fight and giving her something to talk about and to write about for her next book. She's just playing the conservatives.

I disagree. Coulter can be abrasive, outspoken and lack certain, uh, diplomatic skills, but her compass points firmly to the right, and never waivers.

Yawn - Ann has made a fool of herself over this (her ridiculous attacks on Fox News of late comes right out of the rest of the MSM play book) - I have found her quite pathetic lately -
She can go hang out on HBO with her good friend Bill Mahar and have fun attacking Fox News and GWB together. Pathetic.
To: bigsky
With Miers withdrawal, Bush has us back on the team, ready to cheer for him unreservedly. I don't agree. This has been a victory for conservativism IN SPITE OF GWB, not because of him. If anything, the lesson learned should be to NOT TRUST HIM.

It's not that he's humor challenged. It's that he realizes that Ann Coulter is not a conservative. The average person can watch her for 2 minutes, the way she dresses, acts, talks etc..... and then think about people that they actually know who are conservative and realize she isn't.
She's entertainment and she's found a nitch for making a buck. Like Marilyn Manson or something.... she's just a show.

Liberals were never able to do this to Clinton when he hosed them. It will be a long time before the White House thinks it can use and abuse conservatives again. Very true :)

Why did Miers withdraw? Perhaps the president didn't know what we have come to know about her? Bing Miered should mean having skeletons in one's closet.
Or should the be Couriced?

Mucho Sour grapes on this thread... no not Miss Coulter.
Hahahahhahahahahahahha, I love the stench of defeated whining moderate loooooooosers.
