The newsworthiness of this story must be because it has a man-bites-dog quality.
After all, if a member of the MSM contributes to Democrats, that is not newsworthy.

"who specializes in digging out election contributions from media types"
Anyone with half a brain and an Internet connection can get the information from fec.gov. If this is "digging out", no wonder the state of so-called "Journalism" is as sorry as it is.

Anybody who would donate to Bush/Cheney and Pat Leahy is totally cynical.

CBS News honcho donates to the GOP?

It's a small donation but big news.
One poster suggested yesterday that maybe CBS News was cleaning house to get the remaining stink of Dan Rather out of the way so they would be better prepared to go after Bush hammer and tongs when the Fitzgerald indictments come down.
At least this news seems to put a damper on that scenario.

But one warning to the right: A year earlier, McManus, the former CBS Sports chief, gave to the re-election campaign for Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.).
This is not just another Whig. leaky is a benchmark Whig so this story means almost nothing.
