Cindy Calls for Peaceful Radicalism and Asks Why 2000?
Prensa Latina ^ | October 26 2005

Cindy Sheehan, antiwar activist and mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, has written a letter honoring the 2000th death of a US soldier in the Arab country and calling for civil disobedience so there will be no more.

Sheehan said she will lay down each day at the White House and ask President Bush for "What Noble Cause?" he is asking staggering numbers of young US men and women and Iraqis to die.

She answers the question herself that there is no noble cause, they are suffering for "power and money greedy criminals." Sheehan then calls on her fellow citizens to no longer "allow the people who are running our country to keep on running it into the ground."

In addition to the wasted young lives in Iraq, 246 of our brave men and women have been killed in Afghanistan. Our troops and the war in Afghanistan get even less attention than Iraq, if possible.

It's time to start practicing civil disobedience (C.D.) on a large scale. On Tuesday the 25th we will be fasting for the length of the vigil in solidarity with the hardships that Americans and Iraqis are enduring on a daily basis. We are asking America to fast in solidarity with us.

Okay, I'm willing to give it a chance. Cindy should go to Iraq and practice peaceful radicalism - persuade bomb makers and the like to join her in protest by laying down on the sidewalk.

Like that mental picture?

I really think the republican party does not undersatnd how leftists operate, or the danger they present to a sane policy. If you lived through the Vietnam era, you saw the left popularize very immature, illogical ideas until we finally abandoned allies to communist tyranny. America behaved immorally, we betrayed those who had fought and died at our sides. As a result, Southeast Asia was lost to us in all respects and joined the communist bloc.

We can't afford to lose the MidEast to Al Queda as a result of these kooky leftist arguments. Abandoning Iraq is exactly the type of weakness that Bin Laden has always counted on.

We should be debating how to change regimes in Syria and Iran, not whether to abandon the new Iraqi democracy to Al Queda.

Anyone who got jealous over hurricane coverage on her long awaited "special day" in Washington honors nothing. She's a pig who used her son to lower herself to the level of a Hanoi Jane or a Kerry.

"Cindy Sheehan, antiwar activist and mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, has written a letter honoring the 2000th death of a US soldier in the Arab country and calling for civil disobedience so there will be no more."

And by "honoring" she means "breaks out party hats and cake - MAYBE WE'LL ACTUALLY MAKE SOME TRACTION IN THE NEXT ELECTION!"

"Sheehan said she will lay down each day at the White House and ask President Bush for "What Noble Cause?" he is asking staggering numbers of young US men and women and Iraqis to die."

She'll lay down? *prays for heavy snow*

Asks for staggering numbers to die? Yes - it is better that we ask them pay for staggering tax rates.

"She answers the question herself that there is no noble cause, they are suffering for "power and money greedy criminals.""

*Wonders where Sheehan was during the Clinton years...*

Sheehan then calls on her fellow citizens to no longer "allow the people who are running our country to keep on running it into the ground.""

Yeah, we need to get our guys back in there so we can show them what REALLY run the country into the ground looks like.

"In addition to the wasted young lives in Iraq, 246 of our brave men and women have been killed in Afghanistan. Our troops and the war in Afghanistan get even less attention than Iraq, if possible."

Is anyone else curious why Al Quada has killed more American personnel in Iraq than in Afghhanistan? I mean, there is NO connection between Iraq and Al Quada...so why is Al Quada leading the charge in Iraq?

"It's time to start practicing civil disobedience (C.D.) on a large scale. On Tuesday the 25th we will be fasting for the length of the vigil in solidarity with the hardships that Americans and Iraqis are enduring on a daily basis. We are asking America to fast in solidarity with us."

And by "civil disobedience" I mean not showering and picking fights with police in the name of peace.

We're going to fast on the 25th - um, if she's talking about Nov the 25th is a Friday...or is this a part of the CD? Convincing everyone the calendar is wrong?

Fast with them? I'll be gorging myself that day.

The fundamental idea of civil disobedience is always violated by liberals. Many activists, when hearing the words "civil disobedience", will take this opportunity to start wearing garb not unlike that of a terrorist and cause trouble. The idea is to have all protesters wear black, hence look identical to each other, so that they can quickly lose law enforcement in a crowd.

Let Sheehan have her "civil disobedience", because it won't be long before she gets arrested and there will be no "when they let me go I'll do it again". She'll be eating cornflakes in cell block B every morning.

Whenever I see this hag in the news, my first thought is always, "Shut up, B*tch!" Is that considered 'Peaceful Radicalism?'

"America's foreign policy supports freedom, democracy, and human dignity for all mankind, and we make no apologies for it. The opportunity society that we want for ourselves we also want for others, not because we're imposing our system on others but because those opportunities belong to all people as God-given birthrights and because by promoting democracy and economic opportunity we make peace more secure. ~ Ronald Reagan

"On Tuesday the 25th we will be fasting for the length of the vigil..."

One could only hope the length of the vigil would surpass the amount of time a human could live without food.

You have really hit the nail on the head! That is their raison d'etre ... communism [of the American Left variety] is their ultimate goal.

And, these arrested adolescents, still think and act in the precise manner they did when they were in their teens. They infect every segment of our society. Only the passage of time will rid us of them. They cannot live forever.

Disgusting.

In more ways than one.

Why?
Hussein’s Iraq did not abide by the terms of the cease-fire that ended Operation Desert Storm:
His forces continued to fire on allied aircraft enforcing the UN mandated no fly zone.
He continued to use poison gas on segments of Iraqi citizens, committing genocide contrary to UN mandates.
He refused to cooperate with UN weapons inspectors attempting to verify compliance with terms of the cease-fire.
He did give aid to terrorist groups in the form of equipment, training camps and intelligence.
There were a few more, but I can’t remember them all.

With the money she is raking in from her websites and backers, she doesn’t really need it.

At least it would shut her up, but our “esteemed” news media would make a martyr out of her and we would see even more pictures of her.

Asks Why 2000?

Would 5000 be more just ... or, make her cause more noble?
