David Gregory/NBC: Liars, or just lazy?

Posted on 10/25/2005 4:13:50 PM PDT by Allen H

Tonight on NBCs evening news, after the gleeful reporting of the 2,000th combat death in Iraq, giving only passing mention to the fact that 79% of the voters in Iraq approved of the Iraqi Constitution and Bill of Rights, describing later that the people are still "divided", NBC went on to their continuing biased coverage of Plame-gate, There was either a deliberate lie, or a blatant example of lazy ineptness on behalf of the script David Gregory was reading. The comment was to the effect of "…regarding the phone conversations of Karl Rove, and whether or not he "outed" Valerie Plame last year, who at the time was a covert agent with the CIA". That is a blatant lie when compared to the facts. Valerie Plame had not been a covert agent with the CIA since 1998, seven years ago now, over five years before her name was supposedly "leaked". The Intelligence Protection Act only criminalizes the release of the name of someone who had been covert agent within the past three years.

They also implied that it was the Bush administration who sent Joe Wilson to Niger, despite the fact it has been made clear that NO ONE in the Bush administration knew or sent Joe Wilson, a known liberal democrat, close friend to socialist democrat Senator Charles Schumer, and contributor to John Kerry and other democrats, which the NBC reporting completely failed, as usual, to report. Which begs the question, why would anyone from a Bush administration send a known liberal hack on such an important mission, especially when nothing in his education or experience would make him even remotely qualified for such a "mission". If anyone should be indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice, it should be Joe Wilson, who claimed to have debunked forged government documents while he was in Niger, even though the documents in question were dated and didn’t surface until months AFTER his trip to Niger.

So this much is very clear, and has been for months. NBC and David Gregory are either bold faced blatant liberal biased liars, or they are so inept and incompetent that they are no where qualified or trustworthy to report the news. This also demonstrates just how stupid the liberal mainstream media believes the American people to be, that they can report in plain English such a boldfaced lie as though it was fact, assuming there would be no price to pay for it. And they can’t figure out why their democrat political friends lose elections every two years. LYING!!! After the supposed "reporting" I heard, there is even more reason not to trust or believe a single word uttered on NBC evening news, or the other networks for that matter, since they’re all three nothing but troglodyte sycophants that parrot each other always using the same language, and the same spin to reach the same reality disconnected conclusions. One would be better off and would learn far more by throwing a gallon of paint on the wall to see if any of life’s mysteries made themselves evident in the splotches, than one would EVER get from any of these evening news shows. They are no longer broadcasts, since most of what they report is fiction, not fact.

Grrr, David Gregory.

I feel like the Incredible Hulk whenever I read his name.

I truly detest that man and would slap him or sock him if I ever came across him (which I doubt as he couldn't be bothered to be anywhere down here in GA)

I really really don't like him.

Really, really really.

Really.

I do not like that man. Grates on me like a metal rake on a driveway.

Yeah, it's such an uncharacteristic surprise from the lib media. And people will STILL argue that they're unbiased. **puke**. I'm not surprised when garbage like this is presented as fact, but it is really irritating, and disgusting that they presume so many Americans to be stupid. Well, given the liberal constituancy, I guess they are half right at least.

I still think, given the network news content and it's overhwelming ficticious nature, calling them "shows" would be more accurate, since "shows" are typically associated with sit-coms or dramas, which are all fiction and make believe, just like the msm news.

Yeah really. For eight years, the media was stone cold blind. And now, they have 20/10 vision. Their vision is so good now they see things that aren't even there.

Really, must this be an "either/or" choice? 'Cause I vote for both.

As far as Plame not being covert, I think the media understand that fact, but do not consider it important. What is important is to drill into the public psyche --"Revealed ID of Secret Agent--Wife of political critic--So Corrupt, will stop at Nothing". Anything outside that template is omitted. No need to confuse the public. Stay on message.

Hitler - "The function of propaganda does not lie in the scientific training of the individual, but in calling the masses' attention to certain facts, processes, necessities, etc., whose significance is thus for the first time placed within their field of vision."

Won't it be fun if there are no White House indictments in this mirage of a story? I'll laugh and laugh and laugh! It'll be fun to see the likes of Chrissy Matthews drowning in his own spittle.

Yes it does seem like a combination of both. And I know, yeah I've known for years what a joke the news shows are. I was curious if they were going to say anything about DeLay. Since they didn't, I figure they know it's a dead horse. The whole deliberate misrepresentation of fact still gets under my skin, even though it's nothing new. I guess sometimes, I like to torture myself just a little. 8)

Then it's definitely good that I only have it on a few minutes every couple weeks or so. It's always so blech FOS. I guess I had turned it off for so long that when I had it on tonight and heard a blatant lie, where the facts of it have been well established for over a year, that really annoyed me. Jerk pinko liberals.

I really really don't like him.

Watching him report this evening, it dawned on me how similar he looks to a chimpanzee from the nose down.

Someone on this thread commented on how little he is. He's not. He's actually somewhere around 6'4". I'll bet he tried out for journalism after being told he was too big for soccer. Regardless, he's one nasty reporter, with a major hair across his arse.

YESSSSS!!!!!!!! Now THAT is my kind of response. Just makes you want to smack his face off and super glue duck tape where his mouth used to be. 8) I need some kind of liberal look-a-like manaquin so anytime I hear something like that, I can put different lib media faces on it, and beat the living snot out of it for a few minutes. It would be nice to be able to vent on "them", so to speak. 8)

Given the original meaning of "broadcast", ironically, what the news half hours are like today is humerously much like the original definition you posted. The only thing funnier than a joke is when the joke is as truthful as it is funny. 8) Thanks for that.

You can give them as much credit for stupidity as for bias. These guys are pretty dumb. Rarely do they ever inform me about anything. The information is out there, others obviously get it to us first. Liberal media bias acts like a delay line. And bias leads to layoffs.

So be it.

Yes, I should have had choice 3: Stupid. But, thanks to that awesome General in LA after Katrina, we all now now that the media and all liberals are "stuck on stupid", so I guess them being stupid is kinda a given now. I LOVE that General. He's my hero. 8) Right up there with MacArthur and Schwartzkopfh.

Yeah, it's so surprising to see some media correspondant lie about something that has been well established. It annoyed me but didn't surprise me. As irritating as it is, I hope they keep it up. They're still in some crack induced haze that makes them think that they can say whatever they want, even if it's not true, and the American people won't know better. They're still a good way to ensure that conservatives stay angry at them and keep voting. They're annoying, but good for the conservative movement.
