Today President Bush addressed the Joint Armed Forces Officers' Wives' Luncheon at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington D.C., voicing his administration's support of the troops, and his commitment to the War on Terror and specifically the mission in Iraq. He later met with the President of the Iraqi Regional Government of Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani, in the Oval Office of the White House. I highly recommend reading President Barzani's comments about our courageous President.
You can also read the entire powerful speech that the President made at the Joint Armed Forces Officers' Wives' Luncheon HERE .
The President will speak this evening at the 30th Anniversary of the RNC Eagles.

I like making costumes...this year my daughter found a funnel at the dollar store that we'll use for a tin man costume . And we created a really amazing storm trooper costume from a bucket, duct tape and long johns a few years ago for my son. Then they trick or treat at our neighbors and in-town relatives.
So it's not all bad. And of course, whining gets no where with me. But despite my best efforts, the kids still are able to push my buttons. That is their job after all! : D

Excellent! I heard her too on Sean, and she is impressive.
MAN, I hope that guy gets convicted of something someday...........I know he's going to be punished in eternity, but I'm human enough to want him to suffer here too......

To: pollyannaish

IMHO, The search engine game the Liberals play is more proof that they literally have nothing to offer the average American other than hate and rage

It's kinda brown from the ground too!
Actually, it's still green, but the leaves will fill my yard the week before Thanksgiving. It happens every year.

My problem is that when I'm there, I have no time for extra stuff.I understand. I'm like that with my son and he's 25. I'm lucky with my daughter, though, because she lives right here now.
If you find that you do have extra time sometime, just let us know!

Laura Bush may be a lot of things, but she is no uber feminist, as the vanity hit piece. I think the poster is suffering from Cranial Rectumitus :-)

LOL. I'll just have new and different buttons to push!
To: MJY1288
They'll be at the library tomorrow.
I'm sure ABC, CNN et al will be there to give them wide coverage. (not)
Juanita is realistic about it. She thinks they'll get some coverage from local papers and that's about it.

Speaking of pushing buttons, I think I had a comment removed by moderator on another thread. My second in all these years.
Is it a no-no to call someone gay?
Some idiot (maybe that's a no-no too) posted the question, "why isn't a 50 year old woman married?" relative to you know who.
I immediately responded, "because you're gay."
I was trying to be funny. I so often fail in that attempt one would think I'd give it up.

Beyond odd. If I hadn't looked up his/her/its posting history, I would have thought a troll was trying to masquerade as a misogynist.
Instead I discover a real live one.
What's that phrase again...a whiff of sexism? There have been several times when posts around here have definitely had that particular odor to them. Of course, that doesn't mean that pointing it out to them necessarily makes good political points. But there is certainly a whiff.

Sorry to not respond to you individually, but I'm hitting the proverbial hay!
(altura, the word 'gay' is used to describe everyone and everything by the young.........your mod must have been old. ;)
Good night, all!!

I saw that. And the original question does have a whiff of sexism to it.
Here's my take on this situation...
Right now, no matter what, we have to avoid even the appearance of calling others names. In a different time or place, that would probably not have gotten pulled. But as it stands, each side is really tender from all the body blows and therefore hypersensitive.
It does none of us any good to demonize the other people in this fight. We are all on the same team, like it or not, and will need each other for fights against our common enemies later on.
What I advise is to stick with principles and facts. For instance, I was upset with some anti-Miers people today because they took an old article, posted an excerpt and tried to imply it showed just how vapid and social climbing Miers was.
It only took looking deeper into it to realize that it was from April and had been completely taken out of context. That is a fact and stays away from personal insults. If they have legitimate arguments against Miers, and admittedly there are some genuine concerns, they must present all evidence fairly, even that which might go against their position.
That goes for Miers supporters as well. There is something vaguely discomforting about the personal notes that are part of the record. For me to not admit that would not be fair. (I will state here, again for the record, that I am undecided on Miers. I have concerns. But even if I end up disagreeing with the President on this issue, I fully acknowledge his right to appoint whomever he wishes and will support him on that.)
Anyway, stuff gets misinterpreted all the time. I wouldn't worry too much...just learn from it and go on. Oh, and never give up on being funny! That is my favorite part of Free Republic.
