Since when did opposing someone sitting on the Supreme Court amount to destroying them. This has gone way beyond opposition. The intent now is to show Miers as a drooling idiot, barely able to tie her own shoes.
Or, as Ann Coulter says, Harriet's a "cleaning lady."
I hope this backfires like hell on you ubers.

Their attempt to destroy a human being is despicable. Nobody has an inalienable right to sit on the Supreme Court. This was a lousy nomination. She is not qualified for the job, and she shows many signs of being a liberal. I know that doesn't bother you, because you are a liberal too. But it bothers us.
We have no desire to destroy Harriet Miers. We never even heard of her until Bush tried to pull a fast one on us. She is welcome to return to her Texas law firm and continue getting ahead in the world. She is not welcome to sit on the court and help her fellow liberals destroy our country.

"Miers is no more qualified to sit on the Supreme Court than I am to be a sumo wrestler!" So stated the so very un-sumo-like Ann Coulter. According to AP, BetterJustice.org is already producing a second commercial spot depicting a sumo-wrestler debating constitutional law with a Miers look a like, and the wrestler wins the debate.

Other than commenting on the relative lack of qualifications and record to be the type of Justice Bush promised, what constitutes an attempt at personal destruction?

Howling mob? These are the people that got the Republicans where they are. You RINO's are losing the battle among your own base.

She will be destroyed in the hearings. She cannot gain intelligence, nor knowledge of what she should know in the time between now and then. She will be made into mince meat, making Pres. Bush and Republicans look like fools.

They are destroying a human being. Read some of the stuff written on here the last three weeks.
"They" in the disputed post does not refer to ordinary Freepers, does it?
And I wonder even what Freeper you comments you are referring to. Please paraphrase.

We have no desire to destroy Harriet Miers. You're doing it, Cicero. You and your arch-conservatives don't give a damn what happens to people, as long as you get your way.
If she's defeated, she will likely stay on in the White House. Whether you like it or not.

If there is justice, this will blow up in Frum's fat face.

I wonder how much DNC money will go into this? Not a dime; the "real, true" conservatives will finance this.

You should limit yourself to discussing actual statements, not divining intent.
And Coulter did NOT say 'Harriet's a "cleaning lady."' She said: Nominating Miers is like nominating the cleaning lady. I thought it was understood that we could expect a REAL conservative, one with a proven track record, not a crony!

These are the people that got the Republicans where they are.BS, they are.
They elected Bill Clinton in 1992 and sat home in 2000; and they didn't vote in any larger numbers in 2004.
You RINO's are losing the battle among your own base.
I'm beginning to wonder just who the real "Republicans In Name Only" are.

Howling mob? These are the people that got the Republicans where they are.LOL! And you can't even let Harriet Miers have a hearing. You're willing to destroy her and tear up the party so you can try to muscle the President.

Exactly right.
I'm sure President Hillary will happily fill the "Miers" seat for us with a good old fashioned commie liberal!
