WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Baggage screeners found bomb components in a carry-on piece of luggage at San Diego International Airport on Tuesday and cleared the area to investigate, Department of Homeland Security spokesmen said.
A department spokesman said the screeners found "all components of an IED" (improvised explosive device) in a piece of luggage at around 7:45 a.m. (10:45 a.m. EDT)
They then evacuated the commuter terminal of the airport and bomb specialists began to investigate, the spokesman said.

You can find "bomb components" in just about any janitor's closet and most people's pockets. What did they find specificially?

Officials announced that there was no chance of terrorism, that this was just an isolated incident and the passenger was in therapy at his local masque. < /fed >

Transportation Security Administration spokesman Nico Melendez said an employee noticed a "suspicious item" in a piece of luggage as it was going through the X-ray machine.
I thought FoxNews report early this morning said the airport was closed because of a 'called-in bomb threat'.
[Of course, early reports are always subject to correction.]

I want those folks whining in the security line at LAX last week to read this....... We should have a special airline just for those folks who don't want to be inconvenienced by security screening. We could call it Jihad Air.

Odd, no mention of the person that was to "carry-on" the bag.

A few years back the was an explosion at a fireworks factory here in Michigan. Early reports said investigators had found bomb making materials in a truck nearby.
The bomb making materials turned out to be a gallon of gas in a can and a bic lighter on the seat.
