Bottom line, Ford has been found liable for failing to properly warn the public not to recline in their seats while driving. Oh, and to not prop their feet up on the dashboard and take a nap. For some strange reason, Ford is supposed to make sure people understand that cars don't drive themselves.....
All this to the tune of $16.95 millioin.

You forgot to tell us that that feature will add $500 to the high cost of the car.
Screwy warning labels--let's have this one: "Do not operate car unless motor is running."
The stupid driver fell asleep--wasn't there a warning label telling him that under no condition should the car be driven while driver is asleep?
Swivel seats that turned and faced out. mmmmmm Were women still wearing dresses 30 years ago? Just curious.
How about, "If you vote Democrat, you are too stupid to drive."

I ALSO forgot to mention that the additional $500 for this Seat-Right safety system will appear on the bottom line as $1750, to help cover the costs incurred by this frivolous lawsuit. This serves to illustrate our commitment to making every wannabe "victim" who comes after us in court with their grubby hand out into a social leper and a poster child for inflated automobile prices by spreading the monetary pain they cause to the public at large. This is our corporate strategy to induce the public to vote for credible tort reform; vilify grifters by spreading the pain of their financial impact to the general public, making them persona non grata with every prospective new car buyer they meet.
For those of you in Rio Linda: the financial beatings will continue until the legal climate improves.
ALSO, several people have inquired as to whether the system will be standard or optional; the Seat-Right safety system will be standard equipment on all production models beginning in model year 2007. While, initially, we had contemplated making it optional, that would have necessitated that every Ford customer purchasing a vehicle WITHOUT the Seat-Right safety system sign a duly notarized waiver of liability protecting Ford in the case of any future accident where this system may have positively altered the outcome. As such waivers can be successfully overcome in the course of legal procedings, we decided that making the Seat-Right safety system an option was, well, not an option. I'm sure you understand.
They did no such thing.
My daughter's Audi drove itself right into the post in the underground garage.
It also refers to suburban teens who I see cruising around here with their feet hanging out of the driver's and passenger's windows ....that is what I assume
I'm waiting for someone to sue over the term "cruise control"..................

Speak for yourself. There are other uses for reclining seats.
(In case of vehicle fire, or other painful event, driver must move off smartly to seek help. Do not tape passenger arms to passenger sides. Do not tape cellular telephonic device in an inacessible pocket.)
