>>>>>>As a city councilwoman, Miers also said Dallas had a responsibility to pay for AIDS education and patient services. And she courted the support of the Lesbian/Gay Coalition of Dallas in her successful 1989 campaign. Here is Miers application. She checked NO. Miers is NOT courting the support of the Lesbian/Gay Coalition of Dallas.

Here is Miers application. She checked NO. "1.) Do you believe that gay men and lesbians should have the same civil rights [POSTER'S NOTE: historically, this has always meant "marriage" and "adoption," insofar as homosexual advocacy groups are concerned] as non-gay men and women?"
Answer Checked: YES.
Again: some "conservative." Not.

Here is Miers application. She checked NO. Miers is NOT courting the support of the Lesbian/Gay Coalition of Dallas. OK, how many politicians in Texas who actually wanted to be elected would explicitly say they were courting gays (double entendre intentional).
For that matter, how any place other than San Francisco or Chapel Hill, NC?
Answer: none.
