Right On!
Good post. We just keep digging the crap up and then blowing it up. As we all know, Rawah had been a staging ground for the goons for a long time on the east side of the river. Now that our Marines/Army and the Iraqi army are in control of that town and the surrounding countryside on the east bank, people probably will point out even more caches.
Great News!
Go Doug!
Good job!
Also..
over 800 point detonating fuses
I'm not 100% sure what they are but if that's one per IED or per suicide vest, glad to have those off the streets. Keep up the GOOD WORK!!!
Way To Go!
the 172nd are known as the "Arctic Wolves." They are based in Fr. Wainwright, Alaska
HUAH. Great job, troops.

Great going!! Stay safe!
Seems to me the tide has already turned. There are more Mulsims turning in their radical elements there than here in the USA. And our Armed Forces are doing a magnificent job clearing the evil vermin out and sending them to hell, where they belong. Sad that the OM (Obsolete Media) will not report any of this good news -- but we understand why.
All we can do is as GWB has said over and over again. Stay the course and build the Iraqi forces that can take over their country and allow the new democratic secular government that will be theirs in a few short months to move forward. Hopefully GWB's remaining time in office will be sufficient to get the job done. So if some real as$hole gets in, afterward, the Iraqis can go at it alone.
Ping for Merry Band of Patriots.

Thanks for the ping, Pattie. Thanks for the thread, Bnelson44.
Our guys are doing a great job of helping to secure freedom for the Iraqi people.
God Bless and Protect our Military!

This war is in the bag now.
The terrorists have been unable to respond to the Iraqi vote this month. More Iraqis voted (2/3rds of Iraq) this time than in January, too. Turnout was up, not down.
If the Iraqi situation had been deteriorating, the vote turnout would have been reduced in October from January's participation.
It's been more than a week since the vote, and the insurgents have done nothing...no spectacular attacks whatsoever. Heck, they kidnapped one of their own Guardian journalists and had to let him go.
If you are an Iraqi, you see the insurgents losing steam. Fewer bombings. More Iraqi's voting in coalition elections. More Iraqi's turning in jihadists and caches.
There's no civil war between the Sunnis and Shi'ia. No civil war between Sunnis and Kurds. The Kurds haven't seceded from Iraq, either.
Thus, the insurgents have lost. It's all over now but the mopping up.
Note also that Syria is turning in insurgents.
I'm looking for a major Coalition announcement of a big success by Christmas...possibly even sooner.
