Three roommates were comparing their handguns in the drive-through of a fast-food restaurant Tuesday when one of the pistols accidentally discharged, killing a woman in the front seat. Police identified the victim as Teaira Richard, 19, 10769 Alco St., Apt. 3.
Nicole Latrise Daniels, 20, who listed the same address as Richard, was booked into Parish Prison on one count of negligent homicide. Bond was set at $40,000.
The incident happened about 3:30 p.m. at the Popeyes at 10706 Florida St.
Daniels was in the back seat looking at a pistol one of the other two roommates had just bought, police spokesman Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said. Another girl handed Daniels a second gun, and as she was looking at both of them, one accidentally discharged.
Richard, who sat in the front passenger seat, was struck in the upper back, McKneely said.
The third roommate, whom McKneely refused to identify, drove Richard to Earl K. Long Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Daniels needed one firearm lesson: This here lever looking thing is called a trigger. You put your finger on it when, and only when, you want to destroy something.

What better way to pass time in the drive-through than to break out the blasters and test the trigger pull.

At most, "someone accidentally discharged the gun." Why are guns treated as though they had minds of their own?

Let's see. How many concealed carry permits were in the car?

Accident? How about cold blooded murder with a lame chaser story of an accidental discharge.

What'd they do? Hit a chuck hole?

I keep them out of reach of children and stupid people. And I never put my finger on the trigger unless I intend to fire.If everyone did that, you wouldn't see stories about things like this.

Doesn't matter if it was a cheap POS or not. The thing was kept LOADED! All guns should be considered to be loaded at all times.

Yea, that was my first thought. It was no accident. Some dumb@ss pulled the trigger!
To: camle
hmm... three roomates all armed, with weapons at the ready in a drive-thru line?
bet they had something else in mind other than "comparing guns". one might say that they just migh have thwarted their own crime?
Well said! That was the first thing that came to my mind when I read this. If they had just bought them, why were they already loaded?

I hate it when those homocidal firearms decide to go on a rampage.

"I always get a kick out of the old Superman tv shows when the bad guy empties his pistol into Superman and then, when that fails, throws it at him."
Talk about stupid people.....you would think the criminal element in Metropolis would have learned that bullets bounce off Superman; yet every week, another group of mental midgets tried shooting him.....funny stuff.....

What did seem strange about Superman was that he would stand there and let the shooter empty the rounds in the gun without flinching but ducked when the gun was thrown at him.
