Two men arrested under OU campus
The Norman Transcript ^ | October 21, 2005 | Transcript Staff

Two Norman men face felony charges after allegedly breaking into a tunnel under the University of Oklahoma campus to get into a building on the South Oval.

Christopher Thomas Boyce, 24, and James Kent Eldridge, 20, were charged Thursday in Cleveland County District Court with conspiracy to commit burglary and second-degree burglary.

According to an affidavit, a witness saw Boyce and Eldridge entering an underground tunnel system by cutting the locks to a manhole cover in the 1100 block of Asp Avenue. Police said the pair then opened a perimeter door and entered Richards Hall, where they removed a "stoppered glass vial."

Eldridge Cleaver might be the feller you were trying to think of.

That is scary if he is the same guy who was arrested.

Yes, that's what I said. There is also some irony in that, which I will save for another time.

Oh, thanks. I guess I should've read all the way through the thread before I posted those last two replies. You took care of it for me! Sorry, all.

That really sounds like a freakish coincidence, if it's not his son. Weird.

None to me, which is not surprising. Eldridge isn't on there. I may comment on a couple later, but not until after checking.

I posted quite a bit about this, because I was the one who first mentioned it.

Yuppers, it's his son

I couldn't make heads nor tails of the chris boyce posts, so looked up eldridge and all I found was a classified ad in the OU market. He was selling a used electric guitar amplifier in May of last year for $500. Called himself "aither" as well as his email addy, but ID'ed himself as James Eldridge.

I also found him in google with his Boy Scout Troop back in 1997, some badge-earning activities at Cameron U in Lawton. His father talked about his long involvement with that specific troop in OKC, at the Presbyterian Church where I went to many events. But his family is Episcopalian.

It is, but it's just a really bad picture. The one with Dreyling's father looks more like him to me. But then, we go way back and I haven't seen him in a few years, since I left OKC and then, it was just every now and then, here and there on the street or eating out.

I wonder if his kid was an SAE at OU like he was. His girfriend in college and I had this funny little thing where we traded frat pins with each other, because my boyfriend's initials were "SAE" but he was a Kappa Sig. His frat pin, "KS" with the Greek "sigma" looked like "KE," her boyfriend's initials, so we would switch sometimes just to be silly.

I thought that was a current one. Boyce is a little older than JKE, I know that--24. I can't tell if Boyce is a townie from Norman or if his family lives in Michigan--getting identical listings for two different people, or they may be the same. Can't work on it right now.

One extra ping may give us an answer?
Mr. Heavy Equipment Guy - do you have anything on "James Kent Eldridge", or Eldrige anything in OK state? Lily whites? Norman, OK needs some second looks. :-( Thanks in advance!
