This is an unmitigated disaster and could ultimately lead to the impeachment of President Bush.

Nah. Republican Congresses don't impeach Republican Presidents.

"No underlying crime...but he made some up during the proceedings."

If the charges are not significantly superior to what Sandy Burger should have been charged with, this prosecutor has much to answer for.

Also, from the Times article, the line that Rove and Libby's lawyers "declined to comment on their legal status" leads me to think that both have probably received "Target Letters."

I support Bush and Miers unreservedly.Wise man

However, you well know the Demonrats do nothing but spew filth in order to slime anyone. It is my hope that Pres Bush takes off the gloves and starts going on the offensive and takes command of the situations. My only complaint of Bush would be that he appears reacting to some things. He ought to take it to the Demonrats. Yet there are a lot of serious things on the plate right now, so I know what he means about many things being background noise.

The Democrats have Vietnam and Watergate in their hearts. They want to repeat it. We need to fight to the death against the repeat of either. No surrender, no retreat, no apologies, no concessions.

Spoken like a man after my own heart!

I actually agree with you. And I'm not usually a pessimist.

If this happens...and conservatives sit out in 06—the President is in deep trouble. The dems want payback for all the wrongs of the "evil, corrupt, crony-infested, nazi-like Bush cabal." Oh..and to get back at us for having the unmitigated gall to work our butts off and earn a change in the balance of power they've enjoyed for the last 50 year., And to get back at us for trying to Impeach President Clinton and every other petty little thing they can imagine.

If you don't see this coming, you spend too much time in the echo chamber. I am around a lot of people who are not nearly as politically active as I am. Easily influenced by the msm voters for the President people. And they have given me reason for pause.

I have to tell you, that I have been praying for the President harder than I ever have before. I honestly believe that it will be divine intervention that keeps this boat afloat.

What sorts of illegal activities do you think the President has been involved in?

Mr. Rove and Mr. Libby have been advised that they may be in serious legal jeopardy

By whom?

None of the lawyers would speak on the record, citing the prosecutor's requests not to talk about the case.

Boy, they have a real devotion to the law, don't they?

BTW, NYT, it's the LAW that they can't speak. DUH.

This is an issue custom-made for McCain's ego and sanctimoniousness.

The problem here is that we have failed to adequately deal with forces who are subversive of our society and of our government. Something has to be done to combat the media-Democrat-judicial triumvirate.

As I see it, the best option is to take them by surprise and go on the offensive. Pardon Rove and Libby, then have Bush go on national television and take to the offensive about the charges - and tell the real story of Plame/Wilson.
