CBS 3) PHILADELPHIA Philadelphia Democratic City Councilman Rick Mariano was threatening to jump from the top of City Hall Thursday evening.
The councilman climbed to the top of the north tower just before 6 p.m. and refused to come down.
Mayor Street and several other representatives went up to the tower to reason with the Councilman.

What is even more interesting is that local KYW news radio played clips of Councilman Mariano today which included the last statement in the article regarding why he is a target of the investigation. The print version, however, edits out the first part of the sentence. He said that he was a target in the investigation because "I don't have enough skin pigmentation", obviously referring to Mayor Street's being ruled out a target in the "pay for play" scandal that resulted in Corey Kemp's conviction among others.

If they suspect money laundering, he's big with the unions and I wonder if he may be tied to the mob?
By the headline, I thought he was ready to jump to the GOP. After reading it, I don't think we would want him.

Think of it as a self-executing death penalty. Evil people killing themselves is a net good for the rest of the world. How much innocent suffering will be spared if this guy prematurely cuts short his predation upon the average man?
