BATON ROUGE -- St. Helena Parish Sheriff Ronald 'Gun' Ficklin, already indicted in a chop shop scheme, is facing new charges accusing him of defrauding the state Department of Public Safety and Corrections of more than $140,000.

Since nowhere in the story is ole Gun Ficklin's political affiliation noted, I assume he is a ..GASP.. Democrat.
Since I know that the US attorney is part of the Bush administration justice dept, are we to assume that this is just a political witch hunt? :>)
