The smartest thing to do when those 'evacuees' boarded that ship would have been to sail it to Cuba ala ' American Mariel ' style......Criminals nearly all....

I'll bet Carnival's sorry they ever decided to house evacuees. Have any of the (taxpayer-funded) "guests" gotten off the ship and started making new lives for themselves?

According to the FBI, which tracks arrest rates from data collected by local law enforcement agencies, Alabama had an average of 4.3 arrests per 1,000 people a month in 2004. Mississippi, meanwhile, averaged about 6.3 arrests per 1,000 people per month last year.

The number of arrests on board the Holiday for the past month computes to about 19 per 1,000 people, based on a ship occupancy of 1,400.

And the demographics and originating Zip Codes for these Holiday "guests" are ..... ?

Are you kidding me? For $200,000,000.00, they are laughing all the way to the bank! Now the ship's workers, that's a different story.

Lock down the ship and do a complete search. Weapons and drugs would be raining out the portholes.

What is it going to cost the taxpayers to repair the living areas of the ship after the "evacuees" get thru trashing it?

It wouldn't surprise me in the least that when the last of the evacuees leave, the ship will have to be completely refurbished.

They can take the crime out of the city, but not out of the crooks. Where did they get all the cocaine and why were they serving them hard liquor. Red Cross/Fema Cards. We hard working citizens need a financial break from Katrina . What a waste of our taxpayor dollars
