Could also be a Saddam opponent who has a personal score to settle with this attorney.
I'm sure plenty of prominent Ba'athists have just "disappeared" in the same way that plenty of prominent Nazi collaborators disappeared in France after the liberation.

Doesn't make any sense. Doesn't stop anything.
Or... was it just a 'random' kidnapping of some guy off the street because he was wearing a good suit... ?

No such luck. It's the one and only Saadoun Janabi! (whoever that is)

This will delay the trial past the November 28th date, which could be bad.

What happened to Ramsey Clark, the war criminal's best friend?Maybe a jealous (jilted) Ramsey arranged the kidnapping?

One of Saddam Hussein's lawyers has been kidnapped in Baghdad, it has been reported.
Saadoun Janabi was abducted by armed men a day after Saddam's trial for a 1982 massacre of Shi'ites got underway in the capital, sources told AFP news agency.

Isn't Ramsey Clarke one of his attorneys? Why didn't they take him?

I'm suddenly having flash backs of Nick Berg.
Would a 'setup', errrr, kidnapping such as this cause a mistrial? Or further delays?

Amazing as it seems Dershowitz actually sounds like he's on our side in the WOT. He seems to believe that anything goes when it comes to getting info from terrorists.

One way to delay justice. Keep his defense team in a state of chaos.

Calpernia, read the statement from my website that the Ba'athist Party sent out last night.
Among other things they said: "The Illigitimate Trial Will Open a Distictive Phase of Jihad in the Action of the Iraqi Armed Resistance"

Areafiftyone, take a look at the statement issued by Saddam's party last night. I believe you are 100% right on that.
