Morning SheLion. Hoping Jr does well this weekend.

He was in Atlanta testing the Bud car yesterday.

BTW, we call him Cowboy now instead of Kingdaddy because of the radio chatter during last weeks race which is part of my tagline.

I thought I broke it last night.

I had a heckofa time trying to post this thread. Thought I lost it twice which would be as bad as losing a tire on pitroad!!

Oh is that right?  Cowboy? hehe!

He sure has had a lousy season.  And he won't be at the banquet and Jeff Gordon won't be there.  Several of the big guys won't be at the banquet.  I just can't believe it.  Gordon seemed shell shocked over that fact, as well.

Steve Park news.......

"STUCK IN PARK
Steve Park's release from the Orleans Racing Craftsman Truck team has been blamed on Dodge's decision to cut its truck series support next season and concentrate efforts on the NEXTEL Cup Series. More Dodge-backed teams may be in line to make personnel adjustments in the wake of the cut in resources. Park's name has already been mentioned for a prominent Busch Series ride in 2006.

Just wondering......
Would it be possible for Petty Enterprises to woo Bobby Labonte away from Gibbs and put him with Robbie Loomis???
HMMM

Last year at the Memphis Busch race, the Bass Pro #8 replaced the "Tracker Boats" logo on the side with the Ducks Unlimited logo. DU is hq'ed in Memphis.

Does anyone know if they are going to do it again this year?

FWIW, the #8 won at Memphis last year, and it was big thrill for DU to be a part of it.

I would be remiss if I didn't post a remembrance of the Hendrick tragedy last year during this race. I will see if I still have the picture of their tribute page.

Hendrick unsure about attending Martinsville: Car owner Rick Hendrick won't decide until Sunday whether he’ll travel to Martinsville for the Subway 500 cup race. It was one year ago this weekend when a Hendrick Motorsports plane crashed into Bull mountain near Martinsville while attempting to land in foggy conditions.10 people lost their lives, including his son Ricky, brother John and head engine builder Randy Dorton. Hendrick told PRN'S Garagepass; “I’ve learned since the accident that I have to take things day by day. I can have three or four days great and then I’ll get really down and thinking about things. It could be somebody’s birthday or Ricky’s daughter comes over to the house or whatever and it just unleashes a lot of emotions so I just try not to make too many plans. I want to go back to support the guys and I also feel like you just can’t run from it. But, if that morning if it doesn’t feel right then I won’t go.”(PRN's Garage Pass Radio Show)(10-20-2005)

I have searched but cannot find anything on his sponsorship this week. He does have his own website now, but there is nothing about Memphis on there.

From Jayski:
Labonte to the #42? Hearing Bobby Labonte, driver of the #18 Interstate Batteries Chevy, is the top candidate to replace Jamie McMurray in the #42 Texaco-Havoline Dodge at Chip Ganassi Racing, which would allow #97-Kurt Busch to drive the #2 in 2006 and McMurray to head to Roush Racing and drive the #97. Both McMurray and Busch signed deals to go to those teams in 2007 and both are trying to get out of their contract to run with their new teams in 2006.(10-21-2005)

UGH........
