add to the fact that Roy0 has already beat the Cards at Busch this series and you have a good point.

he appears to be on cruise control right now....

The Hillary Curse lives!!!!

Oct 2000.. . .The Yanks last won a World Series defeating the New York Mets in five games.

Nov. 2000....New York elects Hillary Clinton, an Illinois native who declares herself "A lifelong Yankees fan," to the Senate.

Since then it's been a series of disappointments:

2001: The usually reliable Mariano Rivera get roughed up in the 9th inning of game 7 and the Yankees lose the World Series to Arizona Diamondbacks.

2002: An 8 run 5th inning finishes the Yankees as they Lose the Division Series to Anaheim Angels in four.

2003: Lost World Series to Florida Marlins in six in which the Marlins become the first opposing team to win the World Series at Yankee Stadium since 1981.

2004: In one of the biggest chokes in baseball history, After being up 3-0 Yankees lose Championship Series to Red Sox in seven.

2005: Yankees bat 0.194 with runners in scoring position and lose Division Series to Anaheim Angels in five.

Unfortunately it apparently effects the Mets too

As a die-hard Cardinal fan, I was looking at their website instead of watching this pathetic game.

Anyway, I notice that on August 10th, 1995 (I was in college, and mad at baseball from the strikes) the Cardinals had a forfeit win at Dodger Stadium.

They don't explain why. Do any of you know what happened?

What was disapointing to read on Tuesday though was that interviews with the fans were all about how Houston should have won simply because they had been denied so many times before, as if it was "their turn" and not something that had to be earned.

Of course I think they realize that a bit more now, there are no free rides.

The St. Louis Cardinals were awarded the first forfeit victory in the Major Leagues since July 12, 1979 after fans bombard the field with more than two-hundred balls that they had received as souvenirs for August 10th's "Ball Day" at Dodger Stadium. The near riot was in reaction to the ejections of Raul Mondesi and manager Tommy Lasorda in the bottom of the ninth.

OK, I'm back. what did I miss?

Actually I had to go pick up my son and you wouldn't BEEE-LEIVE what our local Astros Radio Affiliate had on instead of the Astros Game. That's right. They pre-empted the National League Championship Series for the Mack Brown Show.

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Please send a note to Sports Radio 1300 and tell them what you think. This isn't the first time this has happened. We probably ought to contact the Astros Organization as well.

GO STROS!!!

The Cardinals are awarded a 2-1 victory by forfeit over the Dodgers at "Ball Day" at Dodger Stadium. In the bottom of the 9th, Raul Mondesi strikes out and is then ejected for arguing the call. Tommy Lasorda gets thumbed as well when he joins the discussion. With that, the fans bombard the field with more than 200 balls they had received as souvenirs and the umps order the Cardinals into the dugout. It is the 1st forfeit in the major leagues since July 12, 1979

Do any of you know what happened?

The miracle of Google:

"After fans hurled their souvenir baseballs onto the field for the third time during the game, umpires decided to forfeit the game to the Cardinals with one out in the Dodgers' ninth. It was the first forfeit in the National League in 41 years."

Well, I'm a die-hard Cardinals fan. And this is my one and only contribution to this thread. I love the Cardinals, have my whole life. And I'm rooting for them.

If there is any team I'd rather lose to, it's Houston. Because of the class that city has shown, throughout the Katrina catastrophe.
