A Pentagon spokeswoman, Lt. Col. Ellen Krenke, confirmed the bonuses had been canceled, saying they violated Pentagon policies because they duplicated other programs. She said Guard and Reserve members would be eligible for other bonuses. All depends if they got the money or not, doesn't it? Doesn't really matter what pot it came out of.

Why does your title say the administration reneged? It's not the title of the article.

Did Patty Murray also repeat her claim that Osama is loved by Muslims because he builds day-care centers? She's a crackpot.

Here is an original story about the increase in bonuses
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6724634
"Updated: 7:47 p.m. ET Dec. 16, 2004
WASHINGTON - The U.S. Army National Guard, battered by its major role in the Iraq war, announced Thursday it would increase enlistment bonuses to attract new recruits and seek $20 billion to replace arms and equipment. "
"He said the re-enlistment cash bonus would immediately be tripled from $5,000 to $15,000 to sign up for six years. The bonus for new enlistees will be boosted from $6,000 to $10,000 to join for six years."

That is a pretty misleading title you inserted.
The article also explains what happened. Did you read it before you posted it?
Maybe you should.

According to the article, this specific bonus program was canceled. Therefore,
new applicants will not be accepted.
Those that reenlisted while the bonus program was being offered will still get their bonuses.
Nobody is having anything "taken away". Those that are no longer eligible for the bonus lost "opportunity", not bonuses
Typical MSM spin.

Rep. Kirt Weldon is on Michael Savage's radio program, and he is implying Rumsfeld is the one blocking further investigation into Able Danger.
Weldon is fuming; says he personally (in a committee hearing) asked Rumsfeld about the investigation being blocked. Rumsfeld replied that he would 'get back to Weldon with a response.' Weldon says he still has gotten nothing from Rumsfeld.
Weldon to give a speech in a few moments this evening on the floor of the House. It should be aired on CSPAN this evening.
