Bush Whacked Rove on CIA Leaks
New York Daily News ^ | 19 October 2005 | THOMAS M. DeFRANK

WASHINGTON - An angry President Bush rebuked chief political guru Karl Rove two years ago for his role in the Valerie Plame affair, sources told the Daily News. "He made his displeasure known to Karl," a presidential counselor told The News. "He made his life miserable about this."

Bush has nevertheless remained doggedly loyal to Rove, who friends and even political adversaries acknowledge is the architect of the President's rise from baseball owner to leader of the free world.

As special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald nears a decision, perhaps as early as today, on whether to issue indictments in his two-year probe, Bush has already circled the wagons around Rove, whose departure would be a grievous blow to an already shell-shocked White House staff and a President in deep political trouble.

I saw Washington based Daily News reporter named Meeks being interviewed on this article, by FOXNews, which is why I went to Daily News to search it out.

More noise.

Why would Karl be admonished? He did nothing wrong. In fact, it is Plame and Wilson who should be charged with fraud and misuse of federal funds.

Are you sure this wasn't from the NYT?

Nope. No spin or exaggeration here. No sir-ee. :-)

If Bush is in "deep political trouble", what would
he be in if he were impeached, like Clinton was?

I do agree that Bush is unlikely to be re-elected :-)

I knew it....I predicted just the other day, here on FR...that the NEXT shoe to drop would be that BUSH KNEW...all along, but kept quiet because he needed Rove for 2004...

I knew these "rumors" would come out...I want to know the NAME of the person who is saying this....

Because, mark my words, Chrissy Matthews and gang will NOW say..that since BUSH KNEW, then Bush is complicit in the cover-up...

Just exactly who are these sources (if any) and let's get them the heck out of the White House.

What the f*#$? "doggedly"? God forbid these people actually write a factual article with out throwing in their own opinion.

The editorials are on a separate page for a reason, a***oles.

Other sources confirmed, however, that Bush was initially furious with Rove in 2003 when his deputy chief of staff conceded he had talked to the press about the Plame leak.

This is all they can dig up?

Talking to the press about the Plame leak
is not the same thing
as leaking her name to the press.

Haven't you noticed that Bush is always at Rove's heels panting? Don't you know that Bush can't even have a thought first they have to go through Rove's brain first. >S<

The New York Daily News is basically the New York Times for the 3rd grade reading level.

You know, people who find Mo Dowd basically correct, but too intellectual for their tastes.
