Wal-Mart temporarily halted construction of a Supercenter and Sam's Club in Bismarck, North Dakota, a day after two illegal immigrants working on the projects were charged with molesting two 13-year-old girls.
A Wal-Mart spokesman says work was halted for several hours on Tuesday, but resumed later in the day after authorities checked workers' documentation.
He says the two illegal workers appeared to be employed by a subcontractor hired by the project's main contractor, Weis Builders of Minneapolis.
A woman who answered the telephone at Weis Builders hung up on an Associated Press reporter seeking comment.
Twenty-one-year-old Julio Alvarez and 30-year-old Carlos Martinez are charged with gross sexual imposition in a North Dakota district court. Both are Mexican nationals. They are being held without bond.
BUMP
The last time they picked up illegals at a Wall Mart they really weren't Wall Mart employees. They worked for a "Sub Contractor"
Seems as if history is repeating itself!
BUMP
Probably a wise move. I can't imagine what she could say that would be helpful.
I'm SHOCKED, I tell ya!
THE WEIS GOLDEN RULES
While change is inevitable, we have not strayed from our family values. The energy and teamwork that surround Weis Builders are largely due to the Golden Rules, which are highly regarded by each of the Weis associates.
"My respect for Wal-Mart just dropped a few notches."
The more you learn about Wal-Mart, the more your respect will drop for them.
Just once I'd like to see the article end "... are being held without air."
OK - more than once. But once would be a start.
North Dakota, these vermin made it a long way north
If Wal*Mart really wanted to get it's image up, it would fire any contractor who hired a subcontractor who was an illegal alien. This shouldn't be a forgivable offense.
Also, I think the main reason why construction is so full of illegal immigrants is because employment is so overregulated and unions push up wages. Of course, getting a slap on the wrist for hiring illegal aliens doesn't do much to deter contractors from hiring subcontractors with illegals.
How can you hold this against Wal-Mart?
Molested or raped? Is there a pattern here of the media saying girls were "molested" when it's illegals? RAPE IS RAPE! They need to shoot the men who did this.
Not too difficult to do, thanks to open borders and local state police who won't touch them.
The red carpet has been rolled out for any vermin, any gangbanger, any drug dealer, any welfare recipient, any pregnant woman, as long as they hail from Mexico.
Vicente Fox wants to get rid of them, and GWBush wants new Republicans, remember?

I can think of one Republican they won't get next time,
unless he or she has a long track record advocating the return of all illegals.
Note that all of this is part of the "lower prices to consumers" mantra.
Wal-Mart no doubt took the low bid contract. That was supplied by a contractor who chose the lowest priced employees.
Those employees - the illegal aliens - then imposed a cost on society. In this case, the social, emotional, and monetary costs represented by the sexual molestation of two 13 year old girls...and legal costs involved in prosecuting and incarcerating the two pieces of filth that committed the crime.
But what the hey! All bow before the One True God - Lower Prices to Consumers!
Please add me to this ping list. Thanks.
