beneficence \buh-NEFF-i-suhns\, noun:
The practice of doing good; active goodness, kindness, or charity; bounty springing from purity and goodness

From my grandfather Verus I learned good morals and the government of my temper. From the reputation and remembrance of my father, modesty and a manly character. From my mother, piety and beneficence and abstinence.

As the British troops marched out to surrender, the British bands played the song "The World Turned Upside Down."

Rain, at least it may keep the dust down.

I have to check up on the climate over there. I don't know what they get during the rain season.

For those of you who'd like a great belly laugh today, the National Organization For Women has declared today "Love Your Body Day" and their website is chock full of insane stuff. My personal favorite is having an "indulgence party" where everyone dresses VERY casually and eats all the wrong foods

Thank you NRA195 for this very timely info. I just had the breakfast of champions: a pot of coffee and a handful of Hershey's kisses -- and I plan on gambling today -- playing the Powerball in hope of becoming one of those "Potentates of the Potomac" -- LOL!

Yeah I did. I wasn't thrilled to enter the Canteen and the first thing I see is someone going around throwing a hissy.

Especially when it is being thrown on what I consider very good people.
