Federal judge grants voter ID injunction A federal judge in Rome, Ga., today issued an order suspending a new state law requiring voters to show photo ID at the polls for the upcoming November municipal elections throughout Georgia.

U.S. District Judge Harold Murphy granted the injunction to lawyers for Common Cause of Georgia, the ACLU, the NAACP and other groups who challenged the law that requires Georgians to purchase a state-issued photo identification before voting.

Another victory, though temporary, for the Party of Voter Fraud.

Actually he left the door open for a remedy - actively give all voters photos I.D. The governor offered to not charge for the IDs but many counties don't have any place to get one.

I bet in two years we can go forward. Even the justice department signaled lukewarm support for using licenses that cost money...it's too much like a poll tax.

Sounds like it's time to get the buses running!

The Democratic Party base (illegals, felons, double voters, etc.) is now coming to the polls.

I wonder why they don't also challenge the existing law in Alabama. GA is a poorer state? Minorities in AL have photo IDs? This is another dumb judge who needs to be overruled.

I heard that just now. Why Rome? These are big name groups. Were they afraid file suit in Atlanta?

Of course. Libs find a law they don't like - such as one that might keep them honest - and they easily find a "judge" to toss it out. The people of fraud march on.

it has nothing to do with Rome or Atlanta and everything to do with the judge..had he been on the bench in BFE, Georgia, that's where they'd have gone..

Of course... makes perfect sense! :) And here we go back to the COURTS and the judges.

Without reading the article, I suspect the requirement to pay for the ID is the problem. If so, the judge was correct in his ruling.

Which I think is ridiculous. It costs < $20 on average for a license or government photo ID.

ole Sonny has offered to provide the ID's at no charge, but that's not the central issue..the issue is, the ACLU et al doesn't think ANY form of ID should be necessary at the polls, whether or not it's free..
