Wheeler had been pitching quite well, while Lidge had clearly struggled the last 2 games and was amazingly lucky not to lose one of those (remember the close double play while the runner from 3rd was heading home?) A good manager knows his pitchers, and goes with the hot one to end it, not the shaky one. Garner is going to get ripped hard for that decision, and deservedly so.
