Ex-CIA Accuse Bush of Manipulating Iraq Evidence
This behavior is unethical, criminal and outright treasonous. Kind of makes one wonder what all of this might have to do with the Rove/Plame kerfluffle.
WASHINGTON Invoking the name of a Pentagon whistle-blower, a small group of retired, anti-war CIA officers are accusing the Bush administration of manipulating evidence against Iraq in order to push war while burying evidence that could show Iraq's compliance with U.N demands for disarmament.
The 25-member group, Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, composed mostly of former CIA analysts along with a few operational agents, is urging employees inside the intelligence agency to break the law and leak any information they have that could show the Bush administration is engineering the release of evidence to match its penchant for war.
IPS member Ray McGovern, a 27-year CIA veteran who gave intelligence briefings to top Reagan officials before retiring in 1990, said the administration has not made the case that Iraq has ties to Al Qaeda and is providing information that does not meet an intelligence professional's standard of proof.
"It's been cooked to a recipe, and the recipe is high policy," McGovern said. "That's why a lot of my former colleagues are holding their noses these days."

VIPS (Larry Johnson's group) say their appeals to CIA staff are an attempt to evoke another Daniel Ellsberg, who leaked the Pentagon Papers, a top-secret study on U.S. involvement in Vietnam.

On a different subject, I don't know if you listen to 'Coast to Coast', the radio show...... but they're discussing Nikola Tesla tonight. Incredible stuff!
And back to the thread...............this Plame/Wilson drama is incredible.
I think there is a rogue CIA clique at the middle of this.....wasn't it Tenent who told GWB when asked if we would find WMDs "It's a slam dunk" ?
Agreed. It definately takes more time than we can afford.
What I'm inferring is that BOTH Valerie AND Miller had access to nice Mr. Wilson.
Joe should have never said in his book that Valerie outed herself to him on their 3rd date. It certainly raised my ebrows.
Read that Joe said: Valerie WAS NOT pleased with his book.
Joe complained that he only got $10,000 for the book, just enough for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the next few years. Hmmmm Valerie doesn't feed him MONEY? That was before he wrote the column. He revised the book to add all the garbage on this fiasco and the publisher said he would get more than $10,000.
I know .. I agree .. it's moving too slowly for me too. I'm praying Mark 4:22 - There is nothing covered which will not be seen openly, and nothing has been made secret which will not come to light. Amen! I prayed that scripture during the 2000 election fiasco - and we know how that turned out.
Plame's hubby. Joe Wilson.
My theory is he let the cat out of the bag when his yellow cake story not only didn't get traction but blew up on him.
In my view the Bush admin had sufficiently discredited Wilson at the point the news that his wife was an agent came out. Wilson could gain only to the extent that it damaged Bush and it took the heat off Wilson again.
Its just a theory and I could be wrong but its the one I tend to favor.
That's an interesting theory.
Hey! Happy 5 year anniversary! (I just happened to notice)
Thanks, I hadn't even thought about it.

I did. Lots of good information. Thank you.
"Our intelligence agencies are NOT supposed to involve themselves in politics and the idea that a rat in the agency was trying to undermine the Bush Administration is just plain wrong!"
Kind of reminds me of Deep Throat (FBI) who had it in for Nixon.
My theories are often interesting. Rarely accurate but often interesting ;-)
Hey! With this case .. you might be right on target!
