At the recent Amnesty International International Council meeting in Mexico a remit motion seeking to declare abortion a human right was discussed. In their latest "Freedom Letter" it is noted that Amnesty International was consulting world-wide on this issue.
Right to Life New Zealand is a human rights organization that upholds the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death. It holds that every human being is endowed by its creator with an inalienable right to life.
Right to Life applauds and supports AI for its courageous defence of human rights. We are totally opposed to a change of policy that would recognize the killing of unborn children by abortion as a human right. There is no human right to abortion which is a violation of our right to life, the foundation stone for all our human rights. There is no human right that allows a human being to take the life of another human being.
This society commends and supports Amnesty International for its concern about violence against women. This concern can not be expressed by supporting abortion. Abortion should be seen as violence against a vulnerable woman and the child she bears. Women are in fact the second victims of abortion. Acceptance of abortion is often the oppression of women by men. Abortion is promoted as a women's right to choose but in reality it is the choice of men who wish to escape their responsibility to love and care for the child they have fathered and the mother of the child.
It would be a great tragedy if Amnesty International in their desire to prevent violence against women adopted a policy to recognise the killing of unborn children as a human right. Right to Life considers is a strange inconsistency for AI to campaign against a death sentence for an imprisoned prisoner of conscience and yet accept that the killing of that person by abortion before birth was a human right.
And sometimes fathers are the third.
And totally innocent human beings.
I can't believe how much the human condition has improved since Amnesty International was made the final arbiter of all the big moral questions.
Amnesty International has long been a tool of the socialists....those elites who think they can plan the lives of everyone in the world better than we can plan our own lives.
One planning tool they require is the authority to take life when they desire. Abortion is the first step in fully opening that door.
...yea, well if AI can declare infanticide a 'human right', I hereby declare that sodomizing AI members with a chainsaw is also
The irony is extreme in this one.
Come Lord Jesus.
"Amnesty International has long been a tool of the socialists"
They used to have a lot of credibility. I remember supporting them in the 1980's when they fought for the people in communist gulags.
I think the loony left took them over some time in the early 1990's.
Yeah, but only if you apply lubrication first.
So....???? The United States is governed by the Constitution not proclamations by self appointed international organizations. Its called sovereignty.
Of course someone probably should take time and explain the concept of sovereignty to our judges.
As I have said, the left believes that the only absolute right is the right of a mother to murder her unborn childrn.
Actually, I hope they do. They might as well come out in the open about their stance and let people see who they really are.
They also called Nelson Mandela the terrorist that he was. They were formed for all the right reasons, and for many years were a noble institution. Too bad that they have abandoned their noble roots.
Unless they raise armies to impose their sick vision of the world, I am at a loss to see why I should care what they think.
Actually, is all started in the late 70s with the plaintive, hardly noticeable plea: All we ask is tolerance; we're tired of the millenia spent in this closet...
It ain't Amnesty Intrauterine.
Hate to break the bad news to you, but... he's been aborted. Maybe next time around.
We need to start changing the name of the kook international groups from NGOs to NRO (Non-Reality Organizations).
