Posted on 10/15/2005 9:57:37 PM PDT by rlmorel
I just finished watching Dr. Strangelove, I had not seen it for many years. I noticed something...any aviation buffs out there see anything odd here in this screenshot of the movie that I took?

Yeah, there's a giant mouse pointer flying above the bomber.

Well, the shadow clearly does not correspond to the plane, thus giving out how the frame was shot.

The shadow does not have the same swept wings the B52 does...nor does the tail have the same angle, especially considering the apparent angle of the sun. Additionally, the shadow does not appear to have the body that extends past the rudder..the shadow happens to look a bit like a B17, actually.

The B-52s shadow is that of a B-17.

First, let's establish if Bill and Hillary were dancing on the beach.
All else will then follow naturally.

the shadow doesn't look right to me - maybe prop with large tail

We must have been the only two people in the world watching that movie tonight. But you are a sharper aviator than I.
To: rlmorel
Besides the mouse pointer, this is a military bomber which is flying to low to the ground.

There's a black bear in the woods?
To: rlmorel
It was an early, unsuccessful attempt at a stealth craft.
