BAGHDAD, Oct 15 (KUNA) -- Polling stations were closed Saturday to end a vote on a referendum on Iraq's draft constitution.
The polling stations closed the doors at 1700 hours local time (1400 GMT) nationwide, ending 10 hours of voting.
Millions of Iraqis flocked to cast ballots during the 10-hour vote. Polling stations were crowded with voters specially in the south, north and secured areas in central and western Iraq.
The referendum started with the vote of President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari in the green zone in Baghdad. This was followed by millions of voters flocking to the polling centers.
The voting did not register dramatic security incidents.
Initial results are expected tomorrow evening. (end) mhg.
Since there weren't terrorists disruption, and since there was a good turnout -- means one thing!
The press won't be covering it.
Wonderful news. I just hope we have as good a showing in California on the special election.
"Nothing to see here, just an anomaly, move along."
Do we have to read about this in a Kuwait newspaper because the American press won't report it?
Millions voting and no terrorist attacks. This is terrible news for the democRATS and the MSM.
I read the Washington Post article on it. It focused on the 3 incidents of violence and a skirmish in Ramadi.
The stinking MSM and the democrats WANT THE US TO FAIL. How else can you explain the bad news only policy and the fact that every Dem Senator who talks about Iraq is bitching and moaning.
These vile a**holes do not deserve the protection and scarifice that our military men make for their safety and freedom.
Good news shall not be reported, unless it's a democrat administration.
Then everything is rainbows and sunlight and pennies falling from frickin' heaven!
Sorry,I guess I'm a little tired of the old media.
"Sorry,I guess I'm a little tired of the old media."
You and millions of others. LATimes is laying off more people and having to rebate money to their advertisers for inflating their circulation figures. BWAHAHAHA!
FNC had their weekday personnel on today to cover this while C-Spam gave it only a few minutes. Is CSpam now wholly owned by the Dnc/Airamerica? They're giving over the network today to Farakhan with almost 4 hours this AM and again after midnight! Everytime I look at their schedule I see one liberal after another. It's really become worthless to anyone interested in truth. And the callers! much worse than mean-spirited.
"Everytime I look at their schedule I see one liberal after another."
This is actually a good thing: the more exposure these whackos get, the more people realize what complete losers they are.
THE DAILY DEAD FAILURE REPORT
MSM: WE STILL SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!
This just in: Because of the confusing format of the punch-card ballots, a number of Iraqi senior citizens have inadvertently voted for Pat Buchanan.
LoL!
The Muslims have been trying to take over and enslave the world by violent and often treacherous means for about 1500 years, so as you suggest, it's not likely to stop tomorrow, just because the liberals make nice to them. We have our work cut out for us, and it doesn't help that the so-called news media are working for our enemies.
