TSUKUBA, Ibaraki -- A mysterious marine microbe, half of whose individual cells eat algae like animals while the rest perform photosynthesis like plants, has been discovered, a University of Tsukuba research team said. The discovery, the first of its kind, will be carried in the U.S. magazine Science that will be published on Friday.
"I think the discovery of the 'half-animal, half-plant' microbe shows part of the process of single-cell marine microbes evolving into plants," Prof. Isao Inoue, a member of the research team, said.

Proper development of advanced vaccines requires an understanding of how viruses evolve and mutate. The devastating influenza pandemics of 1918 and other times evolved as avian influenza viruses mutated and gained the ability to transmit from human to human.
However, those who can not or will not take the trouble to understand science find it much easier to call evolution a religion. Those who start from faith may have a chance, but those who end with faith are condemned to spoiling their god-given brains by failing to use their intellect as god intended.
Nothing is Evolution Theology, as you well know. Take a Biology course. You might actually learn something.
"The same virus with different genetic sequences turned on or turned off."
Now your ignorance of Microbiology is showing. Your definition of a strain is exactly not what a new viral strain is.
Why play with him? Toss him in the trash can.

Well, you certainly got him to say some pretty idiotic things. Now he seems to have disappeared.
I like killing them softly with their own words.
I love asking creationist for clarifications. I never have to contradict them. It's satisfying just to watch them say silly things in public.
I have to imagine that the more educated among them cringe in horror, but their code prevents them from correcting each other.
Yes.
...because you've held you breath till you turned blue.
No because we've reached an area, post-penetration, where the Genetic science is difficult, not well understood, varies depending on the type of virii, and at a level where Evolution Theology is completely and totally meaningless, and is not predictive.
You are ignoring a critical concept. Evolution isn't about the source or cause of change. It's about selection after change occurs.
Darwin knew nothing about genetics. He observed variation and noted differential reproductive success. The mechanism of change is irrelevant.
