LOS ANGELES - The 24-year-old son of O.J. Simpson defense attorney Robert Shapiro died at a hospital after being found unconscious, and the coroner's office said he had tested positive for amphetamines.
Brent Shapiro, a University of Southern California graduate who had just enrolled in law school, died Monday. He had been found unconscious the morning before.
Officials at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Hospital told the coroner's office that Shapiro had tested positive for the drug, said Lt. David Smith, a coroner's office spokesman.
"It's being considered an accidental death," he said.
An official ruling on cause of death will be made after toxicology results come back in eight to 10 weeks, Smith said.
Robert Shapiro and his office declined to comment. He was a key member of the "dream team" that successfully defended Simpson against charges that he murdered his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman in 1994.
He wasn't a bad looking kid. Probably didn't have much of a role model in his Father.

I don't believe karma. It's a Godless and hideously unfair belief. I do agree with your point that Goldman was innocent while Shapiro's son obviously was engaging in high risk behavior. However, the grief of a parent over the loss of a child will not necessarily be less because the child was not "perfect."

Strange, but before I read the postings to the thread, I had the same thoughts the two of you had. So sad.
Kardashian died a few years back if I recall.
He did look shocked at verdict but I dont see how that translated to some scruples.
He is believed to be the one who "got rid" of the black bag. He never came clean with that.

You know I forgot about that. Do you know the age of all of these guys when they died? I know Bailey was up there but Kardashian wasn't that old at all. Cochran wasn't so old either. It is interesting to say the least. I believe each of them believed OJ was guilty but it was the typical situation where they wanted the notoriety and fame that went with such a big (media wise) case.

He doesn't look upset to me. He was by O.J.'s side the entire trial. If I was going to attempt to read his mind, I'd venture a guess that he was thinking "I'm glad it's over".
