Conservative children's book selling well (Warning: scary Hillary illustration!)
Web India / UPI ^ | 10/10/05

A book extolling conservative values, Help! Mom! There are Liberals Under My Bed! might turn out to a best seller.

Katharine DeBrecht, a South Carolina journalist and mother of three, says she wrote the book of two young brothers trying to run a lemonade stand, but are thwarted at every turn by left-wing politicians, the Sunday Telegraph reported.

DeBrecht says she wrote the book because she could find nothing to teach traditional Republican values, but that her children got a steady dose of left-leaning values via King and King, whose royal hero finds true love in a gay marriage and Heather Has Two Mommies about a little girl with lesbian parents.

Some characters may stem from real life such Congresswoman Clunkton who tells the boys to cut the sugar in their lemonade and forces them to add a sprig of broccoli to every glass, said the Telegraph.

Nice to see that India and UPI are following our political scene. But the writing of that article leaves something to be desired -- one look at Congresswoman Clunkton from "Help! Mom!" and I think we can all figure out who she is supposed to be. ;)

If that pantsuit was black ... that character would be a dead ringer for the beast.

Well, Sgt_Schultze, it is a children's book, so you don't want that particular character to be TOO accurate.

Help! Mom! There are Liberals Under My Bed!

Say what you want about all the liberals propaganda, at least they try to be a little subtle.

“they'll be pleased that around fifty percent of the proceeds of this book will go to taxes.”

That is funny!

Jerry Agar had an interview with the author, and she's got a number of other books coming out, which should really be a hoot!

I didn't hear the entire interview, and I can't remember the titles of the books, but I do remember nearly running off the road from laughing so hard.
