You Said:
"You're missing my point. I don't care if he caught it or not, if I have to go to that length to investigate, there's a good probability the ump could not see it."

Ahhhh.... And isn't that the point. What if he did YELL OUT really really loud and it came back that my evidence of pictures showed it may have hit the ground.

Would not all the white sox fans have an equal argument for the same reasons?

This was a judgement call, and the game continued and then the White Sox still stole second base, the catcher left the ball in his glove making an error IMHO, and then the pitcher throws a meatball over the middle when he has an 0-2 count.

think about that..

all the video proves is that well-placed cameras can see better and more angles than limitedly (is that a word?) placed human beings.

Whether or not the ump missed the call, the angel catcher should have tagged him out ot thrown to first. If the ump yelled out then he should stand up on his hind legs and enforced the call. Have the angels said he called out. ASll I've seen is that they said he made a fist.

I'm out and I stand by that, at least until I see the video and tomorrow's posts.

I don't think the Angels catcher deserves any grief for failing to make a throw down to second base on the stolen base attempt. From what the announcers said on TV during that play, it sounds like the runner got such a great jump off first base that it was impossible to get him at second.

They spoke at length about the weakness in Escobar's delivery -- he's a right-handed pitcher with his back to first base, and his wind-up is so slow that it's easy for runners to steal against him.
