If the timing of the police raid is correctly given, then you have to think that the feds were following him and his friends covertly to trace their contacts.
Whether the authorities set off the bomb is another matter. The story was that he approached the stadium gates three times, but was turned away. Were the gate guards warned about him, or was it sheer good luck that they happened to be stopping students to check them for alcohol?
I suppose the FBI could have spoken with the university president and asked him to think of some innocent-seeming reason to search everyone. That would explain why he is acting like an insider, in the know--also like an insider who thinks the American people are too stupid to be told the truth.
It seems to me that the cat is out of the bag, that the other Muslims must know that they are being watched, so the FBI could perfectly well let the media tell people the truth, that this was a terrorist plot that failed. That wouldn't give away anything the suspects don't already know.
I guess you would need to know whether it took a few minutes, 15 minutes, half an hour, who knows? The normal police response would be to visit Kinrich's room, search it for evidence, interview his roommate and friends, and so forth. But if it were done in the normal course of an investigation, it would probably take more time than if the whole circle were suspected of being terrorists and were being watched.
I don't know what the timeline was. We have only one student's suspicions to raise these questions. But the news media ought to be doing some investigating, even though they seem to have lost the habit of actually digging up facts.
I can only think of two explanations: 1) he was making drugs; 2) he was making bombs. Or possibly 3) he was making drugs to support himself while he made bombs.
I sure did Seadog Bytes and thanks to both of you for the pings.
Don't look at that little man behind the curtain, he has nothing to do with any of this.
Coming events cast their shadow well before themselves, and all this has only been a dress rehearsal for the attack that will come, apparently carried out by blue-eyed, blond-haired young men of Northern European extraction, who had succumbed to the call of Jihad. In fact, it may have happened already, in Oklahoma, in the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Murrah building.
All the threads lead back to the Philippines, and mysterious connections made there by Terry Nichols, to the Jihadi Islami that is so active there.
I agree with what you've said about this. It is curious - I mean even if Cheema had just emerged from the apartment when they grabbed him - how would they know what he looked like - presumably Hinrichs didn't have his pic in his wallet with his name, ya know?
It's all rather interesting...
>>>>Nothing else I read or heard drew attention to this being the 5th anniversary of the USS Cole attack.
I think Curt Welden gave the USS Cole more justice then we could have ever hoped for.
From Curt's speech:
>>>What we have here, I am convinced of this now, is an aggressive attempt by CIA management to cover up their own shortcomings in not being able to do what the Able Danger team did: They identified Mohammed Atta and the al Qaeda cell of Brooklyn 1 year before Ð9/11. But even before that, as the story unfolds, you are going to hear the story that they also identified the threat to the USS Cole 2 weeks before the attack, and 2 days before the attack were screaming not to let the USS Cole come into the harbor at Yemen because they knew something was about to happen.<<<

Mr. Welden's speech is being emailed everywhere as a hot topic. Every VET and MIL are dumping their address books on it.
I'm confident the USS Cole victims will soon rest in peace. Their brothers aren't going to let this go.
Nothing news in all this. Back during the Depression the reds were able to mobilize huge ralllies in Chicago and New York, but a news blackout was achieved by the powers-that-be. The news reels, which were played weekly in every movie theatre in the country, in a time when EVERYONE went to the movies (movie, one dime, bag of popcorn, one nickle, ninety minutes of escape. Whoever is in power "controls". The only way dissent gets its day is by infiltration of the power centers, as the reds did the New Deal and Hollywood. and academia.

CIA is not the only intellogence agenmcy that needs to CYA.
That is true. And I'm sure housecleaning will be going on for a while.
I suspect that the Fitzgerald investigation is being "guided" by CIA agents hoping to get revenge on Cheney. Miller wrote a book on "the Agency." I gather she is in thick with them.
That makes sense to me.
I've sent out Weldon's speech to just about everybody I Know via e-mail.
FRegards..
