Yankees vs. Angels - Game 5 Live Thread
FR ^ | 10/10/05 | me

Posted on 10/10/2005 4:16:35 PM PDT by gridlock

This is for all the marbles. Game 5. Winner goes on to treat the White Sox harshly...

Mussina vs. Colon

Does the Moose have one more good start in him? Will Colon be unhittable, or will the Yankees break through? Will the massive payroll win out over the scrappy role players? Will A-Rod look like a fairy when crossing home plate again?

All these questions and more will be answered in a few short hours...

First Pitch 8:15 EST

I still believe that 1. The Yankees will beat Anaheim and 2. That the White Sox will take those metrosexual pantywaists in 5.

Lacky should have been held back to pitch Game 5 on full rest.

Colon's back is hurting him. Lacky had the third best ERA in the AL in the second half.

Colon pitched bad in Game 1.

Lackey is in better shape and he could have gone 7 innings one run instead of Colon who has no chance for that.

But it wouldn't have been PC to pitch Lackey in Game 5 instead of Colon.

I see, so the Yanks are "metros" because they're the only team in MLB that doesn't allow goatees, braids, dreds, and long hair?

Oh.

Say, how 'bout those Mets?

I know you guys are mourning the loss of Boston, but I think you may find some interest in this series...

You know, you want the Yankees to carry the AL East Pennant into the ALCS, etc... Right?

"Arod will finally and decisively convince all that he is the AL's MVP."

And then hope that decisively convincing evidence of his steroid use does not come out before the voting completes.

Hey, I'm man enough to admit the Met have sucked in recent years, but Yankee fans should admit that their team is, uh, a little light in the loafers and overpaid. No wonder the Yank-offs still play in that ghetto stadium that seems more becoming as a Bolivian soccer field.

Post season playoffs...something we CUB fans have NO CLUE about.

As a long time (40 year) fan of the north-siders, I attended my last Sox game with the ole' man wayyyy back in 1964 I guess it was. Moose Skowren and Luis Aparicio were the only two players I could remember. Old Comisky Park had some old firehouse painted white as the foul lines for the outfield.

Now, after having dissed the Sox for forty years, how can I root for them? Well BOTH the wifey and I watched the games over the weekend and rooted for the Sox AND then for the Yanks so we can have the luxury of a CHICAGO team woopin' up on them...

So, Let's go YANKS, cuz whippin up on the LA Angels, er Anaheim, er Animhime...heck, can't even SPELL their name...the XXX are waiting for you.

A Cub fan rooting for CHICAGO!!!

Well, I am in Florida, but a native of Southern Calif. SO i will be rooting for the Angels. They never got very far for years under Autry's ownership. But now? Well, its another time and hopefully they finally win all the marbles. If not, hey the Jacksonville Jaguars won yesterday. LOL!
