Saying that the French are dirty or cowards is a little bit like saying the sky is blue. Nobody is going to contest it, said Denis Chazelle, a long-time French resident of the Washington area who created a web site in March to try and dispell misconceptions about his native country and who led the campaign against the Subway ads. I think (French bashing) is worse now than it was two years ago because, although its not as relentless as it was, it has become a lot more accepted and part of the landscape, he added.
Well just look how scared they are of a one-ball bicyclist who has already said he probably won't ride in their silly little race again.

FRENCH 'HYGIENE' EXPOSED
The dodgy hygiene habits of the French have been revealed in a new survey.
Only one-in-10 of our continental cousins regularly uses soap and one-in-25 never takes a bath or shower.
To make matters worse, one-in-33 never brush their teeth, according to a special report by the weekly magazine Le Point, which quizzed 10,000 people.
Rather than have a good wash, many French people simply use perfume and cosmetics to mask their smell.
Despite this, adults manage to spend between 48 and 56 minutes in the bathroom every day.
Of these, 14% make telephone calls, 8% sing and 6% smoke - and 1% admitted to eating there.
The report, called 24 Hours in France - An Unusual Portrait of France and the French, has not-surprisingly been criticised.
Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, the French-born former Millennium Dome chief executive, told the Daily Mirror: "This idea of the Frog who doesn't wash, has a baguette on his head and a string of onions around his neck is old hat.
"It's about as real as the Englishman in his pinstripe suit and bowler hat."

France and chicken, somehow it just goes together"
That's an insult to the species. The chicken species that is. At least chickens have a purpose in life. I loathe the french so much that I cant even watch Casa Blanca anymore without wanting to wretch. I have more respect for Al Qaeda than the average frog b@stard.

The ad by the Subway chain touted a cordon bleu chicken sandwich with the words France and chicken, somehow it just goes together. A photo of a chicken dressed like Napoleon accompanied the advertisement.
Subway ran the ads in about 10 US states for nearly a month and pulled them in September following an outcry by members of the French expatriate community and other customers offended by the racist undertone.

Nobody is going to contest it, said Denis Chazelle, a long-time French resident of the Washington area who created a web site in March to try and dispell misconceptions about his native country and who led the campaign against the Subway ads. But if it concerns the French, its no big deal, he said. People here can say they hate the French without blinking an eye or an afterthought.

Two years after relations between the US and France soured over the Iraq war, French-bashing in America appears alive and well in light of a recent ad campaign by a fast-food chain linking France and cowardice.
I think the french-bashing should continue. What are they going to do? Surrender to us? The worst that could happen is they put their hands in the air...PU!

I enjoy bashing the Cheese Eating - oops - I mean the French as much as the next guy.
But I have little respect for Subway when they do it because they have no problem bashing America.
How many of you remember this controversy from about a year ago: Subway Ends Fat Statue of Liberty Campaign?
They followed that jewel up with a cartoonish extra fat cheeseburger crashing into the World Trade Center and knocking it down. More Anti-American Images Found at German Subway Stores
It makes their protestations about not wanting to give offense seem a little disingenuous when they pulled the same stunt (only in reverse) about a year ago.

A photo of a chicken dressed like Napoleon accompanied the advertisement. Seems to me that the French expatriates overreacted here. Although they associate chickens with cowards and being French, I don't think anyone would describe Napoleon as a coward (he was a lot of things, but not a coward).
More a case of the guilty dogs yelping the loudest.
