A photo of a chicken dressed like Napoleon accompanied the advertisement.

Seems to me that the French expatriates overreacted here. Although they associate chickens with cowards and being French, I don't think anyone would describe Napoleon as a coward (he was a lot of things, but not a coward).

Napoleon Buonaparte wasn't a real Frenchman, anyway...he was a native of Corsica, an Italian island which only became a French possession the year before he was born.
