LETTER DEFENDS FORGOTSTON
OCTOBER 09, 2005
Several letters to the editor were printed in a recent edition of the Times Picayunne blasting C.B. Forgotston. Apparently they were eager to defend Ray Nagin, who C.B. criticized. However, The Dead Pelican recieved a letter from one Walter Abbot that was submitted to the Picayunne. At this point, it has not been seen in the New Orleans paper. It's printed below.
XXXXXXX
To the Editor:
I know C. B. Forgotston. C. B. is a friend of mine and hes no racist. But C. B. Forgotstons email news service isnt what the Times-Picayune should be concerned with.
What the TP needs to do is its job.
The TP needs to find out why Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin let hundreds of busses flood and cause hundreds of unnecessary deaths.
The TP needs to find out why it is that bus drivers can always be located for election day duties, but not for hurricane evacuation.
The TP needs to find out who made the decision to prevent the Red Cross from delivering food and water to the thousands of people trapped at the Superdome and Convention Center.
The TP needs to find out just how many of Mayor Nagins employees were/are for real and how many were/are ghosts.
The TP needs to concentrate on the endemic political corruption that is Louisiana in general and New Orleans in particular.
Once the TP has found out these answers and some politicians go to jail, then the Times-Picayune can lecture us taxpayers about how and why we criticize our public officials.
Sincerely,
Walter C. Abbott III

Please continue to fight them and not let the questions you have asked go unanswered.
That the paper chooses not to print your letter is damning, to say the least.
The N.O. Toilet-Paper is a liberal rag deep in the pocket of the local Dimocratic Party machine.
Pigs will fly before they print a letter like yorus.
Chad Rogers has posted the letter on his website and Moon Griffon has already read it on his statewide talk radio network this morning.
They don't have a monopoly on the printing presses any more....
Louisiana media stinks ping.
Now, change the subject to Mayor Nagin. I understand the New Orleans Charter also has a means to recall him. Is there such an effort even begun? Or, is there an election set for next year, and what is the status of a concerted effort to replace that deadly dummy, then?

Here's the website for Blanco's recall. I don't know how far along they are with signatures, etc.

As far a Nagin's future, the New Orleans municipal elections are scheduled for February, 2006. However, watch for activity in the Louisiana Legislature to change the law in an effort to delay the elections...
Glad to hear that......as you can see from my tagline, I'm all about one person with courage making a difference.
Send that letter to the New York Times. I'm certain they will print it in their paper for you!! NOT!! You make sense, and they do not understand that at all.

---These are all questions someone needs to answer and quit trying to cover it up.
Did you send your letter to The Advocate? Half of New Orleans lives in Baton Rouge now.....
I heard Bobby Jindal do a radio interview yesterday. It turns my stomach whenever I think how different things could have been if only we'd have elected him as governor instead of Blanco. It's like a reverse of the 9/11 situation where you think, oh my God, it could have been Gore in the White House, and you let out a huge sigh of relief.
