October 9, 2005: The U.S. released parts of some captured al Qaeda documents, detailing arguments within Iraqi terrorists over the damage done by their attacks that kill Iraqis and other Moslems. Some al Qaeda leaders believe that all those dead Iraqis are causing increasing resistance to Islamic terrorism. You don't need captured documents to know this, for there has been a very public debate among Iraqi Sunni Arabs over that point. Al Qaeda has become the most feared and hated organization in Iraq because of all the suicide bombings. This has resulted in nearly all the terrorist attacks taking place in central Iraq, where there are pro-al Qaeda Sunni Arabs. In the north and south, al Qaeda faces very hostile Kurdish and Shia Arab populations. The Kurds have had over ten years to build a security force that has blocked terrorists from getting in, resulting in very few terrorist attacks. In the south, there are many areas where Sunni and Shia Arab populations live side by side. This has provided al Qaeda some access to the south, but the level of terrorist violence is still much lower than in central Iraq.
The most interesting captured letter, from Osama bin Laden's deputy Ayman al Zawahiri, to terrorist leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, reveals the extent of the disagreement. This letter shows that the "Al Qaeda in Iraq" operation is pretty much on its own, and that al Zarqawi does what he wants. Bin Laden and his crew can only plead for al Zarqawi to toe the party line. Al Zarqawi comes off as a homicidal maniac, determined to keep up the slaughter until, somehow, the situation turns around.

Zarqawi does whatever he wants while Zawahiri begs him to send money. Zarqawi is in an interesting position.
The same kind of debate had been takling place in Indonesia, where every last one of the Jakarta bombings produced 90 percent Indonesian Muslim casualties.
Which is why Bali remains a target: the chances of hurting an infidel Aussie or infidel Hindu are greatly enhanced (Bali is 93 percent Hindu).
Frankly, Bali should just ban Islam entirely or keep a very tight lid on the small number of Muslims there.
Zarqawi has access to the $millions$ ($billions$) in U.S. dollars secreted out of Baghdad banks in the days immediately before "shock and awe."
I agree. The cold war policy of 'containment' is entirely valid since Islamofascism is a political movement concealed in religion.
I think most Iraqis have already figured it out. The Islamofacists want to recreate a Iran like state theocracy dominated by Sunnis and repressing the Shi'ia and Kurds. The US backed government offers all groups a share in power and a return to normalcy after years of police state repression under Saddam. The number of "purple fingers" after the last election says Iraqis have pretty well decided.

Nope, it's a logical deduction.
Usay Hussein alone withdrew $1 billion in $100 bills less than two days before the invasion. It's logical to conclude that he wasn't the only person doing so among the Sunni Baathists (who now support Zarqawi's activities).

The following statement was displayed on a number of Arabic language jihadi message boards yesterday. The statement, posted by long-time Zarqawi spokesman Abu Masayra al Iraqi, contains a statement denying the authenticity of the letter written from Zawahiri to Zarqawi, and released by the US Direct of National Intelligence this week. The translation of the statement follows:
In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful
Oh Allah! Make our shots hit their intended targets, and fasten our feet firmly to the ground. All praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. And prayers and greetings be to his prophet, Muhamed, to his family, and to his companions.
And then:
A few days ago, the government of the arrogant master came up with yet another episode of their long history of fabricating lies, concealing facts, and creating illusions, to the point that this practice has become the only thing they are good at.
This time, the crusader’s imagination went wild, but it continued its long tradition of contradicting itself and insulting people’s intelligence. They claimed that Al Qaeda leaders, may Allah preserve them and give them victory, are having disagreement among themselves and the organization desperately needs financial support as it is losing its campaign in Afghanistan.
But in the same time they made this claim: “The mujahideen are continuing in their missing to establish an Islamic State, ruled by a Caliphate”. They appeared, among other lies in a letter they alleged to have been written by Ayman Zawahiri. Naturally, we do not know when and where this letter was found. We must assume that due to security concerns, and to protect the sources of intelligence, the administration cannot reveal when and where such letter was found.
Some satellite media outlets went along with the American game plan to lend further support to the allegations. They made connection between the content of the alleged letter and parts of Sheikh Zarqawi’s lectures on “The way of the victorious party” and they took the liberty of assuming that Zarqawi’s lectures were meant as a response to the alleged letter. They forgot that the parts they were referring to are essentials of monotheism that no two Muslims disagree on, let alone two Muslims of the status of Sheikh Ayman Zawahiri and Sheikh Zarqawi.
We in al-Qaeda declare that there is no truth to these claims, and they are baseless, except in the imagination of the politicians of the Black [White] House. We swear by Allah that this allegation is more evidence of the total failure of the crusaders on the battle field. They are desperate for any news that uplift the low morale of their soldiers. Their leaders make up story after another in their isolated offices in the Green Zone, away from the reality on the ground in the land of the Two Rivers. Their slaves from the Iraqi Guards and Army have learnt from them and are doing the same thing. No wonder that the recent allegations came at heel of another allegation made by the dog of the cross worshippers, Solagh, claiming that they uncovered a similar letter in Tal Afar.
We call on Muslims not to pay attention to this cheap propaganda and to remember that the media will always be the infidels’ sole weapon until the end of the battle.
We like to bring glad news to all Muslims. All of your brothers in the mujahideen are in the best state of prayer and readiness. Why should they not be? Haven’t they seen the dreams of the Crusaders crumble in Afghanistan and Iraq? Only a few hours more of patience and perseverance is between the mujahideen and their final victory. Your brothers, the mujahideen, are fighting to establish the relgion of Allah, or die or it. They will either see the flag of monotheism raised high throughout the world, or they will go to paradise.
Oh Allah! Protect the mujahideen and help them promote your religion.
Oh Allah! Protect the leaders of the mujahideen, and strengthen their leader, and fasten their feet firmly to the ground.
Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Allah Akbar! Glory be to Allah, to his messenger, and to the mujahideen.
