"It could be sensible for individual EU members to sponsor African states to help them overcome their economic and social plight," he said. "It would be especially important to improve trading conditions for African states."

"Wide-ranging campaigns to legalise immigrants such as in Spain mean more illegal immigrants are drawn to Europe," Schily said.

More proof against anyone who supports an amnesty program for all the illegal immigrants in the US.

The Spanish government should have just called the amnesty a "Temporary Worker" program. That's what we do here.

You know for their next amnesty (and there's always a next one) I have a spokesman, in mind, who claims to speak Spanish - and could help convince a hostile public. He stammers a bit but can read a script OK. Available in January 2009.

Typical socialist tripe. Israel has no immigration problem. That's because the IDF is properly staffed and respected in society, and because their fencing is in place.
Socialists opened Europes's borders and now they cry because the population is pissed.

Looks like some EU leaders are beginning to scramble to discuss African immigration (read Islam) problems at their next meeting.

This truly IS rearranging the observation chairs on the Hindenburg.
