I just received a phone call from my son that is in the Air Force. Apparently 3 of his friends and fellow Airmen, were involved in 2 separate accidents yesterday.
One was on a motorcycle he had only bought a few minutes before the accident occurred. He told me this young man had just bought this bike literally minutes before and took off without a helmet. He hit a pole and suffered severe head trauma. My son said they were not expecting him to make it.
The other 2 were involved in auto accident and my son told me they had to get the jaws of life to cut them out of the vehicle. One of these 2 were not expected to make it either.
When my son called he was at the hospital with one of them and he told me they were about to take him to surgery. I'm not sure which one he was there to see, I only know the hospital is 45 minutes from the base and he did mention they were at 2 different hospitals.
All of these young men are Stateside, stationed at Travis Air Force Base in CA. Please forgive me for not posting their names. I do not know how the Military contacts family and since it just happened late last night... Well you all know what I'm trying to say, besides God knows who they are.
I knew something was wrong when he called and he was so shaken. That is saying a lot because my son is a very strong individual that is always in control. When he was 19 he was shot in the face with a .38 (according to the Doctor that took most of the bullet out of him) and still managed to drive himself and another person 10 miles for help. Although the kid that was with him panicked my son threw his phone to the kid told him to calm down and instructed him to start making calls to my husband and several friends to and let us know where to meet him to get him to the hospital, while driving and holding pressure on his face to slow down the blood loss.
When I arrived he was trying to calm me down, telling me he was going to be ok. All the while with a shatter jaw and tremendous amount of blood loss. So like I said for him to be shaken, I know this is not the norm for him.
Please pray for these young men.

Lord keep these young men and their loved ones in your hands at this sad time, bring healing and help to shattered lives and hearts and bodies. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Prayers offered for these fine young men!!
Dear angelsonmyside, the story about your son makes so much sense to me...heroes are always more moved by the pain and suffering of others than by what they suffer themselves. May the Lord Almighty, the God of Our Fathers, comfort him and strengthen him as he serves his buddies with his bold and fearless love. Amen.
Your prayers are of great power, loving mama of a great man.
The Lord be with them
Prayer for the "boys" and their families going up.
I really admire him for handling a bad situation so well, but most people I know can handle the sight of their own blood better than someone else's. It's much harder on him to see his comrades hurt and being told they may not make it.
Prayers that God lay His healing Hands on these three airmen! Please keep us posted.
Thank you and everyone for continuing to join me in prayer for the 3 young men. I spoke to my son briefly today and he was planning on going back to the hospital as soon as he was off duty. I will update all as soon as I get word.
Thank you all again.
I am only ping those who sent prayers for the servicemen that Angelsonmyside asked us to pray for.....
We have an update on the condition of the young man that was injured on the motorcycle.
It has been reported both by Angelsonmyside's son and another friend of the injured person that he did suffer extensive injuries to his head including a skull fracture, but the bleeding in the skull and brain area has stopped.
He does have facial trauma, and will probably require reconstructive surgery.
He also has 3 broken ribs that punctured his lung. He is currently on a respirator to assist breathing.
He also has three broken vertebra in his back and neck and a broken leg.
The report from angelsonmyside's son is that the soldiers mother is at his bedside and the doctors remain very optimistic that he will pull through, but will require extensive rehab and prayers.
(I only intend to use this ping list for updating the conditions as they get reported, but if you would like me to remove you please let me know.)
Lord be with him and his family as he continues to heal.
