There They Go Again -- Justice Department Clamps Down on OU Suicide Bomber Facts
TownHall.com ^ | )ct 8, 2005 | Mark Tapscott

Posted on 10/08/2005 11:04:18 AM PDT by SauronOfMordor

It was only hours after Joel Henry Hinrichs III blew himself up Oct. 1 near 84,000 football fans at the University of Oklahoma when federal officials claimed he was just a troubled young man with no links to terrorists.

But then yesterday the U.S. Department of Justice asked a federal court in Oklahoma City to seal the search warrant officials there used to get into the apartment Hinrichs’ shared with three or four students described by neighbors as “Arab-looking men.”

If Hinrichs acted alone and had no links to terrorists’ organizations or activities, why seal the search warrant? What did investigators find in Hinrichs’apartment that they don’t want the public to know?

[snip]

The most disturbing hole, though, is the letter intercepted by U.S. intelligence last May from Iraq terrorist mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi to Osama bin Laden describing a “Great Ramadan Offensive.” The offensive was described as a series of spectacular attacks in the U.S. and elsewhere during Ramadan, which is in October. Was the OU stadium bombing intended as the first of those attacks?

Yes, they mentioned there wasn't one.

Well, that proves it was a suicide. No suicide note, the exception to every rule. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Perhaps he ripped it up and put the pieces in the bottom of a briefcase, like Vince Foster.

My daughter asked two cops about security and was told they couldn't talk to reporters until after the game and one of them told her to call him in the morning and he would fill her in on additional precautions. She talked to some students who said they felt like they were going to jail as they checked everything. In past years, they just walked in after giving their tickets with cursory checks of their purses, etc.

In the comments she received, she felt security had definitely been tightened. Hope she hears more tomorrow from the cop she is to call.

"Perhaps he ripped it up and put the pieces in the bottom of a briefcase, like Vince Foster."

Are you saying that you don't believe Vince Foster commit suicide? That's news to me!

BTW, this kid made a mistake that cost one life. Usually we say how unfortunate. This time I say, "Thank God."

I think we are seeing the tip of the iceberg and I am not sure they are going to be able to keep a lid on everything for much longer. Too much digging around by investigative people and the Internet is coming to life on this.

Since Boren was in the Senate when the Republican Guard was relocated to OKC after the Gulf War, did he have a hand in advising Bush #41?

Since seeing those links I have been doing some searching around the Net and frankly I am in shock. When I read this guy asking why he had never been sued, I had this really bad feeling that if only 1/8th of what he said was true, it was damning.

Several of us have brought up blackmail because nothing else made sense -- maybe now the puzzle pieces will start to fit and those two white kids that got kicked out of OU will get some justice. I just read their story and it jogged my memory of when it happened.

But Boren wouldn't let it go and his last piece about the Arab students frosted me to no end.

How long has Boren been president of OU? Is there any limit to his term?

MANY PATHS SEEM TO INTERSECT IN NORMAN, OKLAHOMA

Check this out about the OKC Bombing and see if it reads similar to what we are going through now:

Shortly after the explosion in Oklahoma City, several events occurred almost simultaneously:

(1) As emergency services responded, two other "bombs" were discovered by investigators and the bomb technicians responded. The first "bomb" was discovered within minutes after the explosion as emergency workers began searching the interior of the building for victims and survivors, and the second within twenty minutes of the first. One was deactivated on site. The status of the second device was not broadcast over television. Both were described as "military canisters," or "devices." Later explanation would be that these were "training" devices left about by the ATF. This explanation did not satisfactorily explain why they were in different spots in the building, far from the ATF offices located on the top floor.

(2) Within a very short period (within the hour) it was announced that there had been a "car bomb," possibly filled with ammonium nitrate/fuel oil explosive mixture. But damage to the building, coupled with the size of the crater and secondary damage to surrounding structures, increased the explosive to "truck bomb size." Throughout the morning and into the afternoon, the truck grew in size from a 14 foot truck, to a 28 foot truck. The explosives grew from 1200 lbs to 2400 lbs, then 3200, then 4600. (What is disturbing about this is that in 1985, the IRA in London exploded a huge semi-truck filled with 45,000 lbs of ammonium nitrate/fuel oil explosive in front of a much older structure--a bank building--and the resultant damage was simply front windows being blown out and a much smaller crater in the street). Another example is the bombing of the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia wherein a tanker truck filled with an estimated 20-30,000 pounds of Semtex plastic high explosive did relatively less damage on a building that was not as bomb-resistant at the Murrah building.

(3) Within three hours, and after all personnel had been moved back from the building because of the discovery of additional bombs, a fireman on the sixth floor of the building (who did not evacuate) noted what appeared to be two military box ambulances--unmarked--back up near the building, and saw several men in black or dark fatigues carrying stretchers out to the ambulances from the lower floor or basement of the building. Many of the stretchers had boxes, which appeared to contain papers or documents, and one had what were described as "some type of shoulder-fired missiles or missile tubes."

(4) Many witnesses stated that they heard two distinct explosions, the second more powerful that the first. To back this up, two seismograms which recorded the "event" showed two distinct markings, approximately ten seconds apart, from two separate locations. A later explanation for this would be that the first event was the initial explosion, and the second was the building collapsing. Later charts, recorded when the building was demolished, refuted this, however. The remainder of the building, much larger than the destroyed section, made almost no marks on the graph when it fell.

(5) A video tape was reportedly discovered that showed the front of the Murrah building before the explosion, then the truck driving up, then the explosion. The truck was identified as a yellow Ryder truck. The first press release explained that the tape came from a nearby ATM machine. A separate press release was that it was from a Southwestern Bell security camera. The tape was seized and has not been shown to the media or general public, which initiated many people to speculate that it either did not exist, or that it did not portray what the media reported.

(6) Witnesses described two "middle eastern males" wearing blue jump suits or jogging suits "hanging around" the front of the building just before the explosion. These descriptions initiated the terrorist hunt that culminated with an apprehension in London--but was then discredited with little public explanation.

(7) Some witnesses described seeing a dark colored, unmarked helicopter, leaving the rooftop of the building a few minutes before the explosion. Oklahoma City Police Department's two McDonnell-Douglas helicopters (black and silver in color) were on the ground at their base at this time (I personally interviewed the pilot). They did not respond until after the explosion. The origin of this helicopter is unknown, nor are there indications that this lead was followed up on.

(8) The only identifiable part of the Ryder truck discovered is the rear axle, which instead of being blown down into the crater, was thrown two blocks away. This axle, originally identified as a GM part with a VIN number, was traced through Ryder in Florida, to a truck rental/body shop in Kansas. However, when GM stated that there are no ID numbers on their truck axles, the truck was changed to "Ford."

I had not thought about Boren's possible involvement in that. I would not be surprised if true. Like I told you, I'm keeping my tinfoil hat riveted to my skull throughout all this.

There are various similarities. One that jumps out, for example, are the two guys in blue jumpsuits. Remember the Persian girl who saw two ME men running right after the explosion last week?

I think last week's operation was carried out by the same cell that had a hand in OKC '95. The major difference is the choice of target. Federal building back then, football stadium now. Federal building was a convenient target for them back then because their dupe, McVeigh, had a gripe against the government and would go along with such a plan. Now they used an OU student as a dupe to bomb a stadium.

I think the original plan was to use ANFO outside the stadium, just like in '95. Jihad Joe failed to obtain the supply, so they went with the back-up plan. Or maybe "back-up plan" isn't quite right. They limited the operation to the backpack bomb and secondary devices, which were originally going to be used together with the ANFO.

"Anyone else remember the terrorist attack on July 4th, 2002? Anyone?

It was labelled as "not terrorist related" for well over half a year. It wasn't until 2003 that a dry report was quietly released that revealed that, gee whiz, that nutty Egyptian Muslim who went and shot up the El-Al terminal (prior to swiftly getting capped by El-Al security) did indeed have terrorist links! "

I remember the attack. I missed the dry report. Another blow to government credibility.

A Sunday R&R moment brought to you courtesy of the FReeper Canteen.

Terrorism seeks to induce compliance by instilling unreasoned fear.

R&R inspires renewed efforts by tapping reserves of tranquility and inner strength.

"not allowed to have surveillance cameras in the parking garage or on campus"

Really? And just last night I heard that the "authorities" had reviewed "tapes" and concluded that the kid had not tried to enter the stadium. Just more fog from the press.

Did you know a RYDER truck was used in the first WTC bombing? I sure didn't until I just read the report. I have a really bad feeling about all of this.

That blew my mind when I read all of that. At this point, I don't know what to believe except someone is spinning for whatever reason. If my daughter's CD player had not been stolen, I would never have known. Then early in the week Boren announced they were installing surveillance cameras at the stadium and I commented about time. Then this comes out. Shaking my head here.

Thanks for the link and I am getting ready to go to Church shortly. I have made the transition from fear to outright anger about what is being done here with the spinning of the OU President who needs to resign and let a new President with credibility come in and take over.

The cynical side of me thinks that people with something to hide get advanced in the political field precisely BECAUSE they have something to hide. Thus they can be easily removed if they become troublesome to those who can convince the media what is "newsworthy" versus what is not.

Case in point: Juanita Brodderick versus Anita Hill. Anita's charges about lewd remarks from Clarence Thomas got extensive coverage and commentary, while Juanita's charges of violent rape by Clinton (with much more contemporary evidence) got no coverage outside a FR and a few other outlets.

We've just seen the phenomenon where an objectively newsworthy event (a suicide bomber with Islamic ties) is decided to be "non-news" by everybody except some locals and a few independent bloggers. For the few days after the event, no national media had interest. Not Fox News. Rush made no mention that I'm aware of. Nothing from Sean Hannity. The alleged "right wing media" did not emit a peep. Now a week later after the blogosphere has made it something that can no longer be suppressed, we start to get notice.

In an old Sherlock Holmes story, Sherlock resolved the mystery by pondering the absence of an event. When the bad guy entered the house to commit the crime, the dog did not bark. Why wouldn't the dog bark and raise a fuss? The answer: because it was the dog's master coming into the house, and he wouldn't bark at his own master

The more I ponder this, the Rush/Hanity/NYPost that didn't bark, the more uneasy I become

Here is my feeble opinion about the War on Terror and Political Correctness.

IT IS EITHER THEM OR US AND I VOTE FOR US.

The Bill Clinton political correctness of appeasing Muslims has over taken the Bush administration.

There seems to be little Common Sense applied to our problems in these trying times.

The president tells us we are in a War on Terror.

However, just like the Korean, Vietnam and first Gulf war we fight this war with our hands tied behind our backs.

It is doubtful that with our present day Mind Set, especially abundant with those on the left, that the United States and our allies could have won World War 2.

What President Bush, certain elitist’s Democrat and Republican politicians and left wing media need to understand is this:

Fellow citizens will not follow any leader to the final battle unless you fight the war to its fullest.

Our leaders must fight this war to win and not just settle for another tie.

When will politicians and many in the media understand that we citizens do not give a damn about civil rights for those wanting to kill our families and ruin our traditional way of life?

We elected Bush and conservatives to office because current Democrat politicians did not and still do not instill any kind of pride and patriotism in their own country.

The Democrats have aligned themselves with traitorous radical groups who would sell out this country for thirty pieces of silver just so they could install their selfish one agenda views.

I remember in the last two elections the words "which party and candidate do you feel safer with".

What this country needs is more Generals Honere, Patton, and Grant and less of the mealy mouthed Generals George McClellan and Wesley Clark.

Fighting the war in Iraq with our hands tied behind our backs really irks the hell out of me.

As to the University of Oklahoma and the stadium bombing.

When a potential terrorist with known Muslim ties, blows himself up on a college campus, is not the time for the government to start a politically correct cover-up.

I would rather be called a bigot by the elitist left, than be called by the police and told that some radical insane idiot has just killed one of my children.

If we do not get off being "Stuck on Stupid" then eventually many good citizens are going to needlessly die.

It is time for our government to either crap or get off the terrorist commode.
