Can Dan Rather be far behind him?
may be
I think Dan Rather's next job will be on cable access television, covering PTA meetings in Walla Walla.
Interesting, question is will he be a moderating voice there and have some say in what's reported or be forced to take the Islamic religous slant on everything.
Say what? How many of those "other inhabitants" speak English?
that's it. al-Jazeera is hardly "fair and balanced".
My my my!....How far the mighty have fallen.
I just met the Bureau Chief for the London office of Al Jazeera International - Sue Phillips is her name.
Indeed the Western employees are a bit sensitive about the general perceptions of what Al Jazeera is - not surprisingly.
But, it should be noted that all of these new hires by Al Jazeera are mostly British trained - usually Reuters or the BBC. The likelihood that they will influence the turbans in Doha is strong and that was the impression I got.
The way I understood it, the move to hire some respected names is not to tarnish the images of the talent, but rather to make Al Jazeera more respectable.
Fox news is an American point of view, but respectable. The BBC is from the British point of view but respectable. There are others in Germany, France and elsewhere, but they dont't broadcast much in English (well, Deutsche Welle does some). Al Jazeera appears to be wanting to add their name to that list. You might not agree with their point of view, but my undestanding was that they want to move away from propaganda and more toward a news organization with a point of view.
Of course, we are just talking about Al Jazeera international. No doubt the Arab stations will still be as hateful as ever.
Why does Al Jazeera need English-speaking talent? Isn't the BBC already one of their affiliates?
Have not read the article yet because my gut reaction to the title was: "Is he out of his MIND?!!!!!" What can he possible do to guarantee that his head will not be separated from his body? If he thinks the barbarians that do such things don't slink around those TV offices then in is not as smart as people think he is.
Dan Rather was whoring himself for the terrorist cause since 9/11. He might as well head on over to the al-Jazeera employment office. The alphabet networks have the same credibility as al-Jazeera now, so I'm sure we'll see Tom Brokaw showing up as a consultant, too.
Oh, could I ever write a sonnet
Cold cash has made its mark, I see
The Brits can put some ice upon it
While Frosty pimps for Al Jazee
((((shivers))))

Interesting. The only way the channel can win respectability is by becoming a voice for moderate Islam. Time will tell.
I can only imagine what their version of Sesanme Street is like.
The BBC is from the BBC's point of view, which has moved steadily left to the extent their viewership is declining.
<< .... Al Jazeera [Propagandists] are mostly British trained - usually Reuters or the BBC. .... The BBC is from the British point of view but respectable. >>
"Respectable?
"Bullshit.
The bbc [(Baghdad Butcher-like) Bullshit Broacasting Continuously] is the scurilously, sytemically anti-Semitic and pathologically-hesperophobic post-Goebbelsian propagandist for every anti-American, anti-Zionist, anti-Israel, anti-Judeo-Christian/Human Civilization totalitarian, terrorist, tribe, gang, pack, mob, hoard and state.
In this case, BBC is Al Jazeera's 'farm'. Frost is now a full-fledged jihadist, there will be many more like him.
